Do variables set with set variable carry on to the re spawned player?
Yes, In my experience they do - assuming you respawn into the "same" unit, ie if you are using
respawn="BASE" or
respawn="INSTANT" in the
description.ext. Naturally, if you have "GROUP" or "SIDE" respawn, you'll end up in another, existing unit and the "new" player object variables may be different.
I have noticed some strange anomalies, and therefore have to reset the variables on re spawn. This is strange behaviour?
Can you reproduce these anomalies and create a mission that shows the problem?
