You can repel from helicopters.  You just have to use a script.  It may not be very pretty but it does work.

you can also have working flares on any air vehicle, heck, even a bloke could have flares... They just dont work like real flares, but very close....

Shooting from helo could be done, just make a helo that use the attach vehicle script and attach a rifle, munted on a pintle.....

I'd like the AI would't go through walls and buildings, like they do sometimes. I hate to be killed by a dude i didn't see cuz he was inside a wall!
And then, when we want them to walk through an open gate, they simply don't do it!
I would rather prefer to have this fixed, insted of penguins and flying monkeys, or even godzilla.

The solution:

Thicker walls....  all the buildings I am making have exterior walls at least twice as thick as the BIS buildings and I hardly ever have this bug happen ;)

they should have fattened up their walls and corresponding Geometry LOD's a bit is all

Hopefully any addon buildings will be free of this pain in the :booty: bug


BTW.... Nothing is impossible.. you just have to come up with new, creative and innovative solutions ;)  

(having a damn good scripter in your camp sure helps too ;D)

  And we must all keep in mind that causing something to occur, and simply making the player believe it occured are two entirely seperate ideas....

there really is no need to shoot for the first idea at all....  it would be nice in an ideal situation, but when it all comes down to it.. smoke and mirrors can be just as effective a tool.

And yes, i've used smoke and mirrors a few times.
Anyways, besides all the limitations, i think OFP is the best in this kind of game.

Thicker walls would stop the Draganov sticking out of the walls, but surely more solid (no clipping) walls would be better...

Hey ya'll. I got an idea! HOWABOUT AN UMPALUMPA ADDON? You know, they could be walking around singing that song and then all of the sudden ... Boom. They take out their 9's and start capping Russians or Americans.

I44 have done the MG/tripod/MG crew thing.

What we really need in OFP, is, I believe, hard drugs. Everon would look much prettier if I had enough LSD in me to kill an elephant... but then we'd need an extra action menu entry...

What I'd love to see if hand-to-hand combat, knives, bayonets, and using the hefty end of my rifle to beat the hell out of people. I know the last one is already in the game (strokegun) but it really really sucks.
