We are well aware of the problems with the forum, and its under investigation.

Even I can't get in that often anymore, and I am part of the team.

Oh yes thought I better put a piccy here.

The new merchant vessels together, P&O and Townsend Thoresen

The aft view showing ramps

Even the chain appears to get used when the ramps are raised.

These have fully useable vehicle decks, but are still awaiting better textyureing and 3d details.

As I and others have said we are need of help particulary in the texturing of models such as the above, and also work with wrpedit.

I can do these relatively simple models but am as of yet unable to take them much further.

If you can help us contact either me or any other member of the team.

Erm... I'm old enough to remember the Falklands War quite vividly... but I don't remember roll-on-roll-off ferries... I am, however, prepared to be educated.

These are part of the large number of civilian merchants taken up to enable enough of the stores and kit to be carried down to Falklands.

MV Elk (blue one)
Requistioned 4th April, entered San Carlos Water on several occasions shortly after May 16th to offload stores, vehicles, ammunition and rations.  Also used to carry out Helicopter Maintenance gaining nickname 'Elk Royal'

MV Baltic Ferry (red one)
Requistioned 2nd May, entered San Carlos Water on 1 June to offload equipment for 5th Infantry Brigade.

MV Nordic Ferry (red one)
Requistioned 3rd May, entered San Carlos Water on 1 June to offload equipment for 5th Infantry Brigade.

The last 2 ships operated together according to my information.

And lets not forget the container ship Atlantic Conveyor, which was sunk by an excocet off the coast of the Falklands, taking most of the Chinooks and other transport choppers with it.

BTW is this being made too?

The intention is yes we (I) will attempt to do the Atlantic Conveyor..

BUT...

I need better source material to work from...

Anyone out there with good side images?? (even if not from the Falklands campaign)

There where several ships of this calss that I am aware of but I can find very little on the net, although that may due to not knowing the full extent of the orginal class.

Any help on this problem would be greatly received

Thanks.

Only 2 of those I haven't seen before (the raf-cas ones) thse two images alone will help a great deal.  Give me week or two and I will have a basic model done

*Rapier Update*
Textures finished on the launcher unit.

And start on the command post for the rapier started.

This is a basic camo netting that will also be released in desert colours.

The color scheme is from a series of photos that are a deep green. Other schemes are being investigated such as http://www.101fc.org/~jb/GS/STORM.JPG

This mutha is planned http://www.armyrecognition.com/europe/Angleterre/vehicules_missiles/Rapier/RAPIER_UK_04.JPG

As for the detail shown in the photo. I have had to sacrifice some detail in order to keep the polycount down as low as I could. What is missing are several cables linking the launcher to its command unit.

The launcher is operational:

I'm still not too sure what you mean, Messiah.
Heres' one of the pics I worked from.  Not having working plans its a bit of hit and miss with the details.

The missiles can lock onto an aircraft.
