OFPEC is delighted to announce that there will be a change in procedure regarding
pictures and images for missions. Traditionally, OFPEC has not required images when missions are submitted to the Missions Depot, although they have always been welcomed. In the future, screenshots will be required. This is partly because, well hey, a few pretty screenshots brighten up the place, and partly to support
Flashnews, the weekly news sheet from BIS. Flashnews now publishes news of missions, and screenshots are obviously essential to make an interesting and attractive Mission News section.
The Missions Depots submission rules will be rewritten as soon as we have worked out detailed guidelines for picture size, etc.. Missions currently in the Pending list are not affected, but authors have the power to amend their own submissions (look for the modify button
) and are encouraged to update their missions once the new submission rules have be published.
Questions or comments are welcome in this thread. Happy snapping!
Taking screenshots is easy. Most people can just hit the Print Screen button, then go to Paint and paste in the image. Cut to size and save as a .jpg file. If Print Screen doesn't work for you - and it doesn't work for everybody - download a free screen capture utility from the internet. There are several. Just make sure that it can cope with DirectX applications - some cannot.
For a "cleaner" picture you can use camera.sqs. Instructions in messiah's camera.sqs tutorial. Yes I know it should be Artak (Missions Depot Admin) making this post, but a lion has escaped from the zoo and he is helping to recapture it.
