Lame dialog question.
« on: 30 Apr 2005, 22:34:01 »
Sadly I have nearly NO experience with RSC and dialogs, however I know there are others that this is not the case.

Ok! Here is my newbie G question! Very simple, All I wish to know is how to make a typable dialog, IE there is a little box that you can type in IN GAME, then I wish to SAVE that text\number written into a .sqs file, such as _Number = text of dialog. However I have not the slightest clue how to do this.

-Thanks!
I like your approach, lets see your departure.

Neither do I.   But I do know that vektorboson wrote a good little tute, and somebody else created a handy dandy little dialogue creator.      Both in the Ed Depot.

Finally, I know that it's not that hard.

There is a very good dialog tutorial by Vektorboson in the Editors Depot, have a peek at that.

There is also a Dialog Maker by RazorWings in the Editors Depot as well.

EDIT:  Thats another pint then   ::)

The Vektorboson and RazorWings stuff is seriously good.  They take you from zero to full speed in no time at all on dialogs. General Barron has recently produced an Rsc tutorial that makes an excellent companion to these.
