The Campaign Who Had No Name...
« on: 16 Apr 2005, 23:27:32 »
A little while back, I spoke of my idea to create a Deus Ex style campaign for OFP. I have ran into a problem...It needs a name! In keeping with the spirit of Deus Ex (a piece of the latin term "Deus Ex Machina", roughly meaning intervention by the gods) i would like to use a latin or greek phrase, or something along those lines. Anyone have any ideas?

HI!!!
How are you this fine day?

Well I have an idea for your campaign name... why instead of using latin or greek (greek sorry but it sounds stupid for a name) you dont use a language that is alike to latin but waaay different and funnier??

 :-[

Damn I cant remember the name of the language, well I am gonna search in google then I report back to you...  :P

Later!
BV

PS::: If you want the name in portuguese or spanish I can help you :)

that's exactly what i want. not the name of a language, but a phrase in a language (other than english) that makes sense.

too much latin to choose from.

deus vult - God wills it
deus nobiscum, quis contra? - if god is with us, who is against us?
de mortuis nil nisi bonum - (say) nothing but good about the dead
dulce bellum inexpertis - war is sweet to those who have not been there
dulce et decorum est pro patria mori - it is sweet and glorious to die for one's country
iacta alea est - the die is cast

Any of those could be chopped a bit. better stop before this post is moved to the classicists' forum  ;)
