Throwing Objects
« on: 17 Jan 2005, 18:53:51 »
I posted my first script (it is still pending) a few days ago and I would like some feedback on how good it is.

Brief Description:
This script lets you "switch" one thing for another. In the demo mission it "switches" a Hand Grenade for a Laser Guided Bomb. But with simply changing 2 things, you could "switch" a M203 grenade for a tank shell. You can do a lot with this script.

I would like to know ways to make this script better.

(I once threw a M1Abrams  ;D)

LMAO ;D

Very fun script. I didn't see many problems, just I woulda liked to find the names of more items.

I found that armor and ppl when thrown get little if any air. Ppl don't go anywhere and are without brains.  :P

Cars/trucks are fun to throw. :)
Throwing sabot shells and such is fun too, and I've actually found soething probably worthy of a mission.

Throw the AT3 or AT6 rocket. Damn that is fun, I sparred off with some T72s in Houdan. Wow, what destruction, what fun. Good script. ;)

@rujik
yeah, in the pending scripts

@GRK
you could probably use this script to simulate and IED (improvised explosive device) as well

Lol, had so much fun with the rockets I forgot the addon error. It was already a sqm so I just edited out the addon. :P

@ for use, I like TriggerHappy's idea of IEDs. Something like a satchel charge that goes on contact or explodes when you hit the "fire"/"throw" button again. :)

I am happy lots of people liked my script.  ;D

There is a problem with my script.  :'(
It won't throw satchal charges. They just hover in midair. I think I know a way to solve this so I will work on it to try to make it work.

Setvelocity it maybe, or replace it with a moving object that looks like it and when it lands make it camcreate a satchel. :P

My solution failed.

@Gulityroachkillar
setvelocity won't work, I tried. What object looks like a satchel but is not a satchel?

Err, just a suggestion, cause ppl have used smoke grenades that don't smoke to simulate time fuse grenades. So no more explode on contact, but I've got no idea what looks like a satchel or how to mess with it other than setpos. :P
