You should add the -nomap extension to your OFP shortcut. I'll use placebo's picture to demonstrate.

Error 403 : Forbidden..
But you right click the Operation Flashpoint shortcut, click properties..
The feild Target, add -nomap to the end
Click okay
Another good thing like that is -nosplash, it speeds up OFP loading a lot (Dosn't display the BIS, Cold War Crisis logo etc)

So what is the trick to doing this? I have follwed the instructions and tried as many different variations as I can think of including unselecting "read only" on the file (ALL of them)and still no joy.

This problem is on a friends computer and the really strange thing is these addons worked before. He was having problems with his power jack so we opened the thing up and repaired it. We did a fantastic job, and really the only thing different is he added some ram. Everything seemed to work just fine except flashpoint. He gets this exact same error message. I tried to remedy this by making him a copy of my addons folder, but it didnt work. This method worked for another buddy of mine and it worked fine. He and I both have geforce video cards. Strange that it would work for both machines running geforce, used to work on the machine with the ATI radeon, but since the repair/upgrade it doesnt work. For example, the seb nampack used to work on the ati machine but now they cause this error.

I also have this problem on my machine when trying to enable the Civil War mod for instance. Any mod that requires any addition in the properties (like this nomap deal) I cannot get to work.

So, just how does one make this happen on a laptop running XP?

If adding -nosplash doesn't work, try adding -nomap on the end aswell.

Code: [Select]
"C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE" -nosplash -nomap
That works or me.  ;)

Alternatly you could remove some unwanted addons from your addon folder.

Ok. After rebuilding the 'puter with the Radeon we did what you suggested and it worked! Well mostly.

Now we cant get the Invasion 1944 Mod to work. Any suggestions on how to get the Inv '44 Mod to work on a toshiba laptop with an ATI Radeon and running XP?

This is so weird that stuff works fine for myself and my other buddy with a geforce but this ATI is just a pissy lil girl.

Does "-nosplash" remove Liberation mod intro?

If its the intro I think you mean (the one with the music before the menu) , then no as this is built into the opening background cutscene. However, Liberation did realise a patch removing the intro.  ;)
