Stationary tank *thingy*
« on: 05 Dec 2004, 11:55:16 »
First i want to apologize bout my lack of words in the topic.

The thing is that i dont know how is it called but it's a hole in wich you place a tank so it can be very low profile. There can be to style of these holes desert and wood.

Maybe some trench arround it so a few infantry men with light MG's  can protect the tank.

Sounds badass. I'm not sure how keen AI will be in messing with it though. They love to spin their tanks round. Shake that ass, Abram! ;D

It'll be very hard to get it to go under the ground, so it will have to look like a hill. This has already been done however, here:

Or if you like it WW2 style:

Hope thats what you mean  ;)

Yeah my vision is practicly the same as what you found Greg.

But it's may be larger dunes so trench can be "digged" in a some sort of pseudo "underground".

Yes AI's like to spin round n' round with the tanks cuz before there was Fight Position i used ruins to hide tanks in it but sometimes the tank went upside down due to ai's bad habit to spin arround.

Tanks guys for this new knowledge!

AI's are not a problem since you can put only one in the gunner seat so no more spins. You can also disable move but i dont know if it will lock the turret?

The germans lost loads of fuel in WW2. It was the main target for american bombers, countless convoys were ambushed, and the entire 1st panzer division had to abandon their tanks in belgium cos the Americans captured the largest fuel dump in europe during the battle of the bulge.

What can I say, I watch alot of true films  :P

Well that was semi-random :P

Anyway, the thing your talking about, they're called tank brems or something?

this setfuel 0 will stop the talk moving the tracks, and  is reversed with this setfuel 1.

this disableai move, will stop it moving, but theres no eneableAI command.. :hmm:

Oh, the OFP engine doesn't let you build underground.. In OFP2 maybe ::)
