Is it a matter of .p3d or .cpp file?

Not sure what you are getting at.
But here goes.

All the animations are hard coded into the game, and we have no way of changing them, or add new ones. So if you want to alter the animations for the stances you're all out of luck.

Are you wondering how you define the soldier as an MG gunner, it has to do with the config.cpp. I suggest you check out Addons: General for help with config.cpp.

He may be talking about the gunners using the large stationary machine guns, and how you can define which animation they use.

Well, I know how to define WHAT soldier the gunner is, if you meaned that, but I've seen this ags-17, and it's gunner is sitting. How ever I'm not sure if it's o2 made or not. It would be nice to have my maxim gunner be prone if it's possible.

edit:Any idea when rest of this site is open?

Okay, the AGS was made by Kegetys, so I suggest asking him how he did it. He's not often on OFPEC, but Flashpoint1985 see regular appearances from him ;D

It was O2 made. All new weapons has to be O2 made. But again, ask Kegetys how he did it.

The actual body posture used by the gunner is determined by this line...

gunnerAction="ManActM2Gunner";

just edit that to get a suitable posture.

You can download the decoded config.bin and resource.bin from Internal Editing

There are both 1.46 and 1.75 versions.

No, my screen is not upside down (unless some fricin commie has turned it). I would send you pic, but it can't be attached for it's too big even as .zip file. Anyway I'm looking forwards to solve this weird prob.
