Summary

So we've finally found the elusive Viktor Enrico. Time to sort him out. I don't know why NATO has got the job but who cares, he has to be eliminated.

Review by The-Architect

Overview

Pretty good. Nice picture, good text, and a more than acceptable attempt at a border.

Intro

I liked this a lot. Viktor is informed that the Americans have located him, and in true crimelord fashion, he executes the messenger who brought him the bad news. It was short but very effective. The only thing it lacked was a thick Eastern European voice to go with the text.

Briefing

Good. There's plenty of info here including a bio on the felon. One problem I did have was when I clicked on a bit of highlighted text which I thought was a marker for the map, and it took me to a different page of text. I had to click back to finish what I was reading and then go back and read the new page. It's possible to have these links together at the bottom of a page. That's where they should have been.

Mission

It took me 20 minutes to complete this mission. There wasn't really any threat to my men and I killed everyone without loss. The placement of enemy mercs was good but the cottage where Viktor was hiding was surprisingly easy to assault. Maybe some barricades and other stuff would have made this a fitting climax to the mission. Also, when all the mercs were killed, I saw a man running away from the building and quickly shot him, only to find that it was Viktor himself. I would have loved to have gone into the building complex to find him cowering in a corner.

Outro(s)

Short pan view across the island chain. Nothing special but again, effective.

Special

Weapon selection, intelligent placement of baddies, crossing of a waterway and, of course, the original (for me at least) plot.

Overall

(Review version 1.0 - Date: Jan 2005) Very enjoyable. Lacked the few touches to make it a keeper but a very playable mission none the less. With a better ending, longer gameplay, and the all important voice acting this mission would score very highly.
