Missions

There is a nice variety of missions in this pack both multi-player and single player missions are included and range from realistic to more of an arcade style. You should be using the OFPEC profile to play these missions. Missions contained in this pack were tested on both Regular and Veteran Difficulty settings.

MP- Ivan Don't Surf
You take the role of an Officer Pilot tasked with stopping a Russian raid on your island air base and eliminating the supporting units. Once you get to the air base proper you have a choice of helicopters to go for. Like most people I'm sure, the Cobras or Kiowas seem the most appropriate (although it depends how many of you are playing). After crossing the short stretch of water some Soviet boats come into view and while they are no match for an attack helo they do start under a protective umbrella of AAA. In fact things can get quite tense as you try to work out where the ground fire is coming from while watching your armour rating steadily deplete. Get too tied up eliminating the supporting Soviet units and you may well find a sneaky boat has crossed the straits behind you.
This mission has a nice blend of tension and destruction and I think would also make a good introduction to OFP newcomers.
All in all a good waste of 20 minutes but needs to be played on Veteran difficulty as on Regular it was just too easy.

MP Ghetto Uprising
I can only describe this mission as pure class.
You begin as one of several captives trapped in a gloomy compound based on the centre of Petrovice and is very reminiscent of the pictures we've all seen of the Warsaw Ghetto. You really do feel helpless especially when the Resistance raid begins and the lead starts flying. After a short while a Resistance T55 improvises an exit from the misery and you will truly feel as though you are crawling for your life as you head out of the compound into the maelstrom beyond. I have to admit the first time I made it out into the main street I crawled into the nearest building and hid up a ladder, safely ensconced within four walls while listening to my squad mates getting slaughtered. When you finally get your hands on a weapon the relief is palpable though it is still advisable to keep you face in the dirt as you head out to the west. Once out in the open countryside the tension continues. As you and whoever else made it out head for safety.
As you lead your rag tag bunch -most of whom are unarmed- pick your way through the dark constantly running into enemy soldiers, losing men here and there and scavenging what firearms you can the feeling of desperation never lets up, you can imagine those bony white knuckles clutching the weapon expecting death at any moment.
Should you manage to make it through to the final destination you really feel you have accomplished something remarkable and you have! Even then it never stops you wanting to beat it again. The replay ability will never diminish, with a different experience guaranteed every time. You may be extremely lucky when leaving the compound and crawl across a dead ruskie or you may face an eternity dodging bullets and shrapnel until you find yourself armed and dangerous yet the feeling of vulnerability still remains.
This mission thoroughly deserves its score. Try it you won't be disappointed. Well worth playing even when you are on your own.

SP Clipping Wings 1 & 2
The difference between the two versions are the time the mission takes place, either very dark (ver.1) or not so dark, set early in the morning. Version 2 is where I would recommend you starting. That extra level of darkness really cranks up the difficulty.
This is your typical Special Forces outing. Sneak somewhere and blow something up (this time it's an American Air Cav Forward Base) but still the atmosphere as you get close to your goal is electric. I'm not sure why you must start so far away from the objective. I do recommend grabbing the Dragunov from the nearby crate plus you will need to take an RPG as your squad members can't seem to reach the weapon crate before piling everyone in to the two BRDMs. If like me you are lazy and get the AI to drive you they can have some difficulty negotiating the shrubbery. On your way to the target you will pass a lone soviet soldier although I'm not sure what he or his UAZ are there for and you may encounter a US truck which gave me my best snap, one shot kill on a moving target yet (yes I am that proud of it). On arriving in the main mission area you will encounter some well concealed outposts - the mission designer is obviously a man after my own heart. You now face a choice, make things slightly easier for yourself when it comes to the extraction or carry on to the main target, its advisable to order your men to start placing their satchel charges close to the helicopters scattered around but you will still need to keep an eye out as the pilots of these helos and a few soldiers begin closing on you and you definitely do not want those pilots reaching their rides and opening up on you.
I won't spoil everything for you but there is some terrific atmospheric tension as you enter the dense woodland to get at your main target, you can almost hear the twigs cracking beneath you as you inch forward. Finally you are there, now all you have to do is find a way into the enclosure and survive the lead hailstorm being thrown at you. Once the objective is complete you now face another excruciating long drive to some hilltop nearly 9km away (why, I do not know) although if a helicopter did manage to take off it will probably be an interesting drive the first time I completed it I'd missed a Kiowa and was constantly buzzed all the way to the final destination it never opened fire once (though I was sure it would) maybe because instead of loading my squad back into the BRDMs I took one of the American trucks from the outskirts of the wood. Still it was an added source of tension.
This is a really cool mission and I do prefer missions that have a sense of realism to them but that realism should not be to the cost of playability. This would make a good multi-player mission.

Depot_Olga
I do enjoy "Defending the base" type missions and this is an enjoyable one to play.
You take the role of a Russian Heavy Squad Leader tasked with defending the previously named supply depot. You begin on the roof of one of the buildings which gives you a nice vantage spot of the base perimeter. Resistance forces begin their assault and you receive some timely assistance from a Hind who kindly begins hunting down the enemy armour while you hope a shell doesn't come your way as you eliminate the accompanying Resistance infantry.
Playing on Veteran can see some frantic moments as you dash from one side of the base to the other and I promise you will need to utilize one of the strategically placed aid stations. Those ten minutes can seem an eternity.
Overall, a good, enjoyable mission that has to be played on Veteran difficulty and up otherwise its just too easy as the resistance soldiers basically line up to be gunned down.
A satisfying mission make sure you play it on Veteran difficulty or higher!

PMS_Avenger
I didn't fully review PMS_Avenger, this mission just isn't my cup of tea and I don't think I can do it justice. I did try the mission out and had some enjoyable moments, especially when me and my mate both found ourselves in cessna's and tried forcing each other down, smack into a hillside or just plain trying to ram each other and hopefully eject in time.
