Overview

The Overview has everything you need here. Information that doesn't give away the mission but tells you a little bit of what’s going on, so you know what to expect. Thank the gods in heaven the pic he included worked! Nice job chap.

Intro

I press start and I get a sweet intro. First it has a fly-by-the-choppers esque flyby. Then it swoops into a cutscene talking about the US movement. It has a cool battle scene. Overall it's a very cool intro, AAANNNDDD it thanks OFPEC (Brownie Points :o). Well, now onto the briefing!

Briefing

This briefing is very detailed. Some typos but I assume that is because of the fact that this guy's main language isn't English. To tell the truth this briefing made me intimidated for the mission. A picture or choice of weapons would've helped. Overall looks like a pretty cool mission idea.

Mission

This mission starts out with cool war sounds. There is one problem with this, it gets really choppy. So I run to my waypoint. Now this starting defense here can be really hard or really easy, it really depends on what route you choose to take. I find myself walking down the road toiled in a big tank fight while I try to take out the infantry, I lose most of my guys. I carefully sweep the hill that I am ordered to defend. I clear out the hill and move on through my mission. So far no real scripting or triggers or any feat to be mentioned.

I advanced through the ruins, checking my map to see what I was doing. I heard a helicopter in the distance. So our defenses are down. The General orders me to retake the vehicle depot. Well, off I go. I see a Chinook, All I can think is OH CRAP. I manage to take out the Chinook so I decided to go to my secondary objective, the vehicle base. I find a BRDM to make the 2000m trip a lot easier. Soviet vehicles rock. Now I took the depot and all. Nothing special there, but the guys there were damn hard. Took me a few tries. BTW, you can't take the UH60, I tried.

Once you get to the hill, a not so easy battle breaks out. Expect to die, A LOT. So I load up, I take a G36 and 3 laws. I leave to go kill the colonel. The sun starts to set and I see 1 truck, 1 tank and 1 APC in the distance. I have already had such a hellacious day I decided to just take them out, I get shot up some more but I annihilate them. I feel the hopelessness while I take out a Vulcan with a charge and open fire on a pack of guys. They says hinds are on the way. I go straight for the cargo. I kill the Colonel and I get a Debrief screen. What a relief this screen is, I did it, I am alive.

Overall

(Review Date: Feb 2002) This is a good mission. Lots of action. A bit on the hard side. Sometimes you feel like you have no friends and the enemies are more prepared. It is fun nonetheless and you feel good once you complete it. I just wish it wouldn't have been a you vs. all mission. While there was support, they didn't do much.

FINAL SCORE OF: 6.9 (Rounds to 7)
