Review by savedbygraceOverviewThe text is short and still leaves the reader wondering what to expect. The image, though resembling soviet propaganda does not provide any more insight into what the mission is about. IntroAlthough I am glad to see an Intro included, this one lacked much creativity. The camera angles and timing were bland and there was no story depth to compliment the scene. BriefingThe author explains the situation fair enough but fails to provide a background story to compliment the briefing. It leaves the player wondering what, why and how. Links function properly and there is a weapon selection but not enough to increase replayability. MissionA good defend your ground type mission with plenty of enemy to kill. A well placed medic tent and ammo crates spread out to allow repositioning helps to cut down frustration a bit. It's almost mindless blasting except that you must protect your flanks and not get tunnel vision. There is some strategy involved in defeating the advance if you can discover it in time but unfortunately, once you find it, the replayability is reduced significantly. Not much randomness involved but plenty of action. Outro(s)The outro is much the same as the intro with minimal camera movements and no story to finish the mission off. There was however, some custom music used here. OverallWhere this one lacks in creativity or immersion, it provides in action. It's a good mission to just blast away at the incoming enemy and for the author's first mission, it's a great start. |
