Review by mathias_eichingerOverviewThe Overview was found wanting. The picture is just an average night shot seen through NVGs, but it is mis-aligned directly under the Overview title, with no space in between. Any text to accompany the overview is lacking. IntroThe author did not provide an Intro for this mission. BriefingThe Briefing was extensive and the map markers were just right. The author goes into detail about the conflict and provides a rationale for this mission, but fails to use the notes section, which would have spiced the mission a bit more. The only thing not present was a weapons selection. MissionThe mission starts with a quiet descent on a parachute. Once landed, close to the first objective, the player has to deal with the relatively light guard force and then proceeds to blow up a precious ammo storage depot. Enemy reaction to the results is good, with a hunter force closing in rather fast. If one was deadly enough with the guards, then there is a vehicle at the player's disposal which surely helps to escape the enemy reaction troops and get to the second objective faster. Said objective is also guarded, but rather lightly again. After the sabotage act here, the enemy is swift to react, but the option to snatch a vehicle could be exercised as well. Once the extraction zone is reached, there is the option to put up a fight, or rush away and hope not to catch a bullet, which works well most of the time. Basically, this mission allows the player to stay and fight or to run and get away faster, at each of the two objectives, which provides for some replay opportunities. Outro(s)As the Intro, the Outro was not present. SpecialThe only special thing to say about this one is the moderate to low difficulty that is a nice change from often ridiculously hard SF missions. OverallA nice little SF mission that is not difficult to beat and will appeal to fans of sneaky action in the darkness who fancy a rather short mission. The "frills" of the mission, eg. lack of camera work and the less-than-beautiful Overview shows that it is not quite polished. |
