Jerry Hopper is back with a very special interview with 'Suma' the head Bohemia Interactive developer. Jerry is looking for community input into the interview...
Jerry Hopper and his ever popular radio program are back after a short hiatus! Jerry has announced that his great Sahrani Radio project is back online! The radio is online 24/7 with music and it will broadcast new interviews, as well as other field reports in and around Armed Assault.
Direct link to listen with a AAC+ compatible mediaplayer like Winamp is http://arma.valuenet.nl:8000/listen.pls.
ArmA street lamps are bulbless, this OFPEC resource adds bulbs to the lamp posts. The bulbs are lite by night for the lamp posts with lights turned on. If a street lamp light is turned off, or if the street lamp is damaged, the bulb will be switched off automatically.
The sharper-eyed among you will have noticed the appearance of stars around the site recently, here on the frontpage and now in the Editors and Missions Depots. This is the new User Rating system which enables you to assign 1-5 stars to the resources on the site according to how helpful you find them.
The Rating shown is the average of all votes cast - hover over the image to see how many people have rated any given resource. In due course we'll add the ability to filter resource lists according to their user rating, but for now get clicking!
The OFPEC Tags database is back online! There is a bit of a new look and in the backend changes were made to make the system more reliable. The most notable change is the addition of addon signature keys. Feel free to add your public key!
We have received a couple of requests for transfer of ownership of tags, those will be done very soon, if you wish to transfer ownership then drop one of the OFPEC admins a pm.
We also have 131 tags with incomplete or missing registration information. We're not sure what to do about these tags, but we're not going to delete them straight away. If your tag is in this list, please contact one of the admins and claim your tag.
Any issues for the OFPEC Tags database should be posted in this topic.
"Finally after quite a long delay due to the problems with our previous hosts and the changeover to armedassault.info Obmar has been able to start releasing some of our add-ons to showcase our work. We will have a beta version of our Mini-Map teaser Island 'Cuito Cuanavale' early in February as Ebud still has quite a lot of work to do. In the meantime Obmar will be releasing quite a few add-ons which will form part of our Mini-Mod release in May. The next release will be the completely remade Alouette III add-on after that Obmar will be releasing some soldier units and our weapons pack. We will be uploading beta missions made by PETROVIC STUDIOS to test the add-ons within the next 2 weeks. Obmar has a bit of free time coming up so will be catching up on a lot of add-on making."
The long anticpated release of the Cold War Rearmed project has come to bear fruit today. The CWR Team released a demo version of the modification for Armed Assault. The demo from CWR includes the island Malden which was completely remade with ArmA quality vegitation and buildings. CWR also includes new West and East units and many other objects from Operation Flashpoint.
It might be that you have not heard of our next interview guest, however his Internet portal is one of the community's most visited sites and has been since the very early days of Operation Flashpoint. If you need addons or an injection of community news then you should head on over to www.armedassault.info and, in the old days, www.ofp.info. Cervo agreed to answer some of our questions only on the condition that he could post the news first!
Placebo updated the Bohemia Interactive's Community blog today. Placebo talks about the Community and where the Community has been. Placebo also sits down with Kegetys and learns more about one of the most respected people playing ArmA & OFP.
In this edition of OFPEC Interviews we delve deep into the world of CTI (Capture The Island) and Anti Cheat systems by Doolittle. For those who are new to ArmA, Doolittle produced some very popular respawn scripts for Operation Flashpoint including CTI missions and he is now releasing beta versions of his CTI system for ArmA.
OFPEC is interested in learning more about the Bohemia Interactive community, and we'd like to thank Doolittle for chatting with us about some of the interesting projects he has going on in the ArmA multi-player world.
The All New Dynamic COMREF!
Way back in the mists of time when Operation Flashpoint was but a young upstart in the gaming world, an enterprising individual named Lustypooh collated the first Unofficial Command Reference, and along with Niosop compiled lists of commands and their functions. The Command Reference was developed by various editors who added lists of weapons and vehicles - in short, everything an editor would need as a reference for the game.
