Another year has passed by... a year of success and exuberance, a year that merits our pride and reflection. Many of us will take this time to spend with our families and friends, some will break out their Armed Assault tools and create something unique for the game engine over the holidays. Whatever it is you do, OFPEC looks forward to hearing from you in 2009! Take care and have a safe and wonderful holiday!
The Staff @ OFPEC
We've added a few more feeds to our RSS section, including the Intel and Addons depot. There's also a generic feed which has the latest item from each section of OFPEC.
Head over to the RSS page to pick up your feed.
OFPEC has been undergoing improvements behind the scenes for many months now; we took the feedback from our survey last year, we took suggestions from the staff and even a few outsiders, and then went to work improving the interface and addressing the backend code for long-term stability. Finally the fruits of our labour can now be shared with everyone!
OFPEC will be going offline briefly on Sunday 07 December for the final stage of our site upgrade. The site should only be unavailable for around 10 minutes in the afternoon (GMT) while some files are renamed, but there may be intermittent access for a short time after we come back online if there are any unforseen issues.
User accounts will not be affected and everything will work the same as (if not better than) it currently does. Your patience during this short interruption to service on Sunday is appreciated.
OFPEC Staff

Now what does this image mean? Are you able to download a great new campaign, brought to you by OFPEC?
Hold your horses, gentlemen, it's not yet the case. But it could happen rather soon - with your help. Ever wanted to be part of something bigger, doing missions for a greater good? Without a mod leader bitching about deadlines - and with much creative freedom allowed? If you could answer "yes" to these questions, click on "Read more".
The Missions Depot is changing its face in the OFPEC forums. Boards are being shuffled, content is redistributed and our staff structure is being altered. All with one purpose, to help all the mission editors, players and of course beta testers out there. So, what are the mission boards like after the shuffling?
We have a bit of a problem folks.
OFPEC has been around for a while, and has gone by different guises over the years. For a short time it seems our forum system permitted members to have one name for logging into the site, and use a different name for display on the forum.
In the past whenever problems occurred due to this we'd eventually manage to find a way around them, but tackling the symptoms over and over have not dealt with the underlying dilemma, which persists. OFPEC is about to undergo some pretty major changes, and we'd like to remedy this issue now before we go any further.
UPDATE - work is now complete (19th October). Contact the Admins if you have any problems logging in.
The OFPEC Recruitment Lounge board in the forum has been replaced with a fancy new addition to the 'Experts for Hire' system!
Over the past couple of years the 'Recruitment Lounge' in the forum has been relatively successful in bringing mission builders together with people interested in doing voice acting and translations, and a few mods have even hired dedicated volunteers from the recruitment board. In an effort to clean up the forums we have decided to abandon this misfit of a board in favour of a more effective advertising system which will do everything the forum board did, and more.
Fast forward to the future! Bedges has developed a system that will allow you to place a request for an expert, or browse the list of volunteers and contact them direct! Advertisements placed in the new system will splash across the main OFPEC page for up to 4 weeks at a time, maximizing the number of people who'll see your request for help!
From that point you can take requests to 'private message', MSN, Skype or your favorite way to communicate. Once your requirements have been fulfilled, or if work on your project is paused for a while, you can deactivate your adverts until work resumes. You can also keep track of how many hits your ad is getting.
Cheetah has been busy updating and fixing the RSS feeds, if you have noticed they haven't been updating as regular as the news updates, that is because we updated them and didn't tell anyone!
Over the years the tag system has been at the hands of many coders, and overtime we have found that some of the tag entries to be either corrupt or outright not conforming to the standard.
If you are the owner of one of these tags, please make sure you have an account at OFPEC and PM one of the OFPEC administrators. If your having difficulty retrieving your password for OFPEC, you can PM Hoz or Planck at the Bohemia Interactive forums.
