Question about the overhaul to OFP2

I read on the front page that this place would make an overhaul to OFP2 when it comes out or something like that... My good question is, will all the original OFP files and addons and everything still be available for downloading?  Like put them in a dedicated archive, or will they be lost forever when OFP2 comes out and we should download what we think we want now?  I ask because I know there will still be people playing the original OFP (like myself) and probably wont be able to get OFP2 for a long while when it comes out (like myself).
