Xbox mission helper
« on: 09 Dec 2005, 05:05:04 »
I have posted an addon tool so to speak.
http://www.ofpec.com/includes/download2.php?id=1343

Here's a summary of what this does.

In order to transfer missions from the PC to the XBox, the mission.sqm file on the xbox will require "BISOFP" added to the Addons section of the mission.sqm file. This addon is intended to make manually editing the sqm file prior to building the pbo file. The Xbox requires the BISOFP be in the addons section before the XBox will play the mission.

Hope this makes life easier for anyone transfering missions over to the xbox.

are you saying some missions are *already* being played on xbox that have been transferred from PC? or is this a step in the road?

Only on a modded xbox at this time. This addon makes it easier for someone who can transfer the missions over to the xbox. Xbox requires that "BISOFP" be in the addons section, so instead of manually editing the sqm file, this addon will auto populate it if you put the object on your mission map.

I got sick of editing "BISOFP" into the sqm only to remove it again when i loaded the pc editor back up.  call me lazy  ::)

here is a 'modified' version of that pbo with a few small 'corrections' :D

as you said in your readme, it was a quick n dirty.

note especially, not to include the bin file, and that this version now shows a sexy icon in the pc editor

We're pretty much there SirJive in terms of understanding what's needed, and what's what.

the only difficulty we currently have is re-signing the 'mission' to the user's authentication key, change the username, or path, is all now quite simple to do, but, it wont work because the signature for the changed file is 'wrong'.

It's a little frustrating,,,, we know what to do, and even have the source code to do it with, but, we can't find THE key to use at the moment.

Hi chaps...

By kind agreement with hoz, his original submission, referred to in his first post...

I have posted an addon tool so to speak.

has now been deleted, as his useful document has been included in the zip for Mikero's package.

Thanks hoz  ;D

PS... you may wish to amend your first post to remove the (now broken) original link  ;)
