        Hi i have 2 great addon ideas, but i ahven't got the time or experience to do them. is there a possibility that a "launcher M16" could be made?? i mean an rifle like an M16 that fits in the slot where a LAW launcher goes. if it can be done and any of you lot are looking for an addon to make then this one would be great. tell me if there is already an addon like this and i'll go to the website like a speeding bullet.

        My second idea is a weapon with a laser designator dot, so if you turn the crosshair off you could still see where you were aiming for a few metres. this would make flashpoint even more realistic and would be great for "rainboow six" style counter-terrorist missions. get me???

I tried that with an MP5, but it doesn't work, mainly because of the animations....

hmm big problem that. i spose it wouldn't work for a pistol slot either :'( :gunman:

It would, but again, the animations... plus, when hes not using it, you can't see it on his back....

hmm, a toughy that.

 you know the    KORD 12.7? i don't know if any of you have DL it but it has someone crouching, instead of standing like in the M2 machine-gun. how did they get it to do that? hmm any ideas?

people working on new animations might be able to but its no big deal.

Thats different. Animations for vehicles can be changed, but to change the way a guy holds his weapon, would change the way he holds ALL weapons of that type. So he would hold his handguns as if they were riffles.

ok thats not gonna happen anymore so back to my second idea, guns with laser aiming dots so you can see where you're aiming without the crosshair!

hmmm i think i know what u mean. the G36 commando, it isn't a laser that i'm talking of, its a red stick which extends a couple of metres. it hasn't got a laser dot it just has a thin red line.  ::)

BAS has a red dot sight on the crosshairs of their M4's. Its not a real laser that hits your target, but its the best way to simulate it.

yeah the BAS one is good but have u noticed that the crosshair / laser dot is allways off. Ethier its a bug or it built into the game engene ???

Erm, all crosshairs are... Thats just the way it is, because you can't accuratly aim your weapon with out using the sights... It's probably like that for a reason, besides crosshairs are just for getting a general idea of where your aiming...

well u know there is a big possiblity of 2 rifles tho one might have to be let's say a mp5... here's the plan the guy has a m16 or what evermark of rifle and where the hand gun goes there could be a mp5 configured like a pistol ie there can only be single shot :-\ but that would work 8)

I think this is was was discussed (Not the last post, but the ones before that)..
What about a car (type thing) thats the weapon model.. And the lights are the laser... It would be hard to make look right (I think..)

Can you make up custom lights, IE, a red laser..?
Would be cool, if its right :)

No, that only works with cars. Weapons, are not cars.... BIS did put a flashlight texture on the HK, but never coded the ability to have lights on weapons into the final game. As for the handgun idea, it works, but it looks really odd:

heh nice pics sarnik uum have u got a error with the flashes?? oh yeah u say it looks odd but i'm not sure ucan't animate a position! oh onix u have a very nice idea there no as sarnik sed u cannot change light color but u could have a complete custom car lke 2fast2furious if u look in editor depot there is a nitro script. and back to the lights texture them a decent colour and in day it's a sweeeeeet motor plus i have to know is it possible to have a underglow?? heh has any one seen the audi gtm addon??? dunno where it is tho but thanx to the author

I don't think I explained right..
The "car" model would be the weapon, and the laser would be the lights..
It would be a car config, but a weapon model and the weapon would always be on the manual fire.... So, its a car, but it look just like a weapon, it fires just like a weapon, but it would use the cars ability to have a light....

sounds cool yet ever so funny how could the car be a weapon?? it could have a cannon on it (animated) with a manual fire proxy and yes it  and the laser would have to be a continuos bullets going slow but then u would have to set the damage higher and the bullets red!!(is that poss)

no wait!!! the car could be a WEAPON tho it may scare the poop out of a guy seeing a puny grunt running at them with the latest ferrari in their hands firing at them!!!!

nope the gunner would have to be the pilot and have a cannon somewher ie the headlights!!!

Right, heres the idea..
The "car" (That isn't a car, but a weapon), is shaped like, say, the MP5..
The weapon (Described line above) would have a manual fire proxy (So when the player clicks the fire button, it fires a round, not a horn sound :)).

The model would look just like a person holding a gun.
But it would use the car's ability to have a light, this would be used as the "laser"..

The config file, I'm not sure.. It would define the thing as a car, so the light would work, and the weapon as, say, an MP5...

Hardest bit (I think) would be getting the person with the gun to look like he is walking (It should be possible, but I'm not smart enough to know how :P)

I hope you understand, because I can't explain this better!! ;)

BTW, you could also use this idea to have a gun mounted flashlight..Which would look pretty cool :)
BTW2.. The model would in no way look like a car (Thought its a good idea... :P :P :P :P :P

ok this time u have explained it xtremely well and now i understand!!! sorry about :-\

well uuuh on the cwc addon (editor update) i've noticed that there is a static mp5 lol they have made it so u canget in it
if the car was a mp5 it could not be hand held and the guy would get in it!!!!

i dunno really i do like the laser sound!


wait no it is poss just i'd hate to think of the animations would be loads

u have a point sarnik but that is 2005!ONIX: i have been speakin to a vry good addon maker(weapon) and he has confirmed your idea but the ammount of animation it would take would be too long! let's just hope there is som1 out there to dedicate ALL that time to animating your idea ie the driver would have to walk plus u could make manuverablity for a gun!!! and the light could not be a laser but a massive beam of light that would make u standout like a sore thumb! heh yeah maybe u should wait for ofp 2 8)

One other prob, can you put in custom lights (E, one that look like a lazer..)

Maybe someone could make a simple thing that has no anims, just a person and the gun with a light, to see if it would work...?

hhmm i wonder bout the costum lights... the only weapon i know of that has a light is the static m2 machine gun and no anims? not possible and G8 have the only laser (not light but red beam)

i was thinking, you know the laser designator, have the laser dot thats on that and add it do an MP5 or summit. then all you have to do is press "change weapon mode" and it says laser designator which you turn on and the dot appears. you then switch back to the original weapon modes so u have a gun with a laser and a gun capable of firing normal rounds. (totally impossible i bet but a thought) sry if i explained it wrong

i'm not sure that is possible sabre u xplained it clear enuff for my brain! but i'm sure it won't work!i may be wrong but to my knowledge it seems impossible

What are you people talking about? I can hit with perfect accuracy using the crosshairs. You just have to be in 1st person view, of course. In 3rd person, the crosshairs don't work very well because the camera is in a different spot.

That thing with the laser designator is intresting... But I don't think it'll work... :(
Can you modify the cross hairs in Opfp...?
(IE, the image the game uses..)

yo ben of course u can make custom optics for ofp (the best prog to make them with is adobe photohop (psp is too hard! trust me) well just to tell ya yeah it's possible

The BAS Delta Rangers - Quite a few of them has a red dot instead of the:

in the cross hair, so I opened up the PBO, and there is a few pictures of red dots...
So! I can have a custom cross hair!!!!!!!
I'm kinda busy ATM, but I'll give it a go some time :)

True, the AAA Shilka has 4 20mm barrels, but the rounds are generated it 1 stream. However, the attack helos of OFP use dual rocket pods, and the game engine alternates between pods automaticly, so why not use that with small arms?

If you want to have more than one rifle at a time, just use the backpack addon, and place your spare rifle in the backpack....
