Review by lokiOverviewThe picture sets up the mission scenario nicely and includes a border and version number. IntroThe intro is short but with no sound or text to help set the story up, I am left to decipher the scenes on my own. This fact lowers the camera score. BriefingThe briefing is well written, thorough, and explains what needs to be done. All objective links work as well as the ability to select your gear from the mission brief. The loadout offered is good for the needs of the mission. The notes section is written as a journal entry, which helps to get you in the mood while providing some extra information. MissionWhat game style do you prefer? SLA Sniper Team is setup as a snipers tactical shoot and scoot style mission. Find the perfect spot, wait for the target to step out in the open and do what you do best....one shot, one kill. More than one shot should be taken at your own risk as it will bring the cavalry down on your position faster than you can retreat. With that in mind, the author has done a great job of forcing a precision shot out of the player by way of consequence. Once you take down a target, you can either move to the lay up point from where you can choose another time of day for your next target or proceed to engage the enemy until your hearts content. I don't like sniper missions you say? Well, with this one, you are not required to snipe your targets. If you prefer the threat of near danger and the challenge of overwhelming odds, then the author welcomes you into the folds of urban warfare. Death at every turn, the sound of heavy breathing just around the corner and your blood trail enticing them to track you down and kill you, will provide you with hours of nonstop firefights. But don't expect the enemy to come to you. With the Area of Operations stretching four towns wide, be careful that you, the hunter, doesn't become the hunted. You choose your tactics, weapons, and when and where to engage while the author offers a way to patch your wounds and rearm yourself when you have deplete your munitions. Want to walk? Go for it. Prefer to chance a ride? You can do that as well. Outro(s)No outro offered. SpecialWith the ability to change the time settings and over 50 scripts to enhance gampeplay. OverallThis mission holds its ground quite nicely when compared to many out there. It has much to offer to players and editors alike but falls short in the immersion category. It lacks indepth cinematics, story driven text, and custom sound effects. However, it does offer random start locations, players choice of operation hours, a healthy weapons selection and tactical strategy. If your in search of a replayable mission, then go no further. This is for you. |

Maybe you should drop the amount of officers needed to be killed (ten) and make it so that when you kill an officer, they stay dead. You might want to include some extra patrols on the periphery of the play-area, also.
I managed to finish the mission fairly easily by moving between two towns, on the very outskirts, with the game speed turned-up and didn't seem to bump into any patrols or ambushes. Or enemy snipers for that matter.
I also had an idea that maybe the player could setup his lay-up position when he starts the mission, maybe during the briefing phase.
All in all, though - a good mission! I enjoyed it. It's inspired me to do one of my own.
I look forward to seeing a sequel!
