Patch 1.03 for ArmA2 is less than one week away, according to a statement made by Bohemia Interactive's Community Manager Placebo at the BI Forums today. The promised release comes with a disclaimer though:
"Fingers crossed it'll be less than a week away, less than a few days away, but you know how sometimes unexpected things crop up so right now we can't say 'oh it will absolutely be within 2 days' or something like that, as if it slips we get lynched again."

On behalf of the whole F2 team I'm pleased to announce our new release of the F2 Mission Development Framework. F2 is the successor to the popular BAS f mission development framework for ArmA (discussed in this thread). The new framework contains many of the features you know from BAS f, updated to work with Arma2, plus some new components which take advantage of the new game's special features.
For downloads and to find out more please see our online manual:

A Russian-language version of the manual will be available soon.
The mysterious Editor Modules are now getting more and more official documentation. The Biki has recently been updated with information on how to use the infamous First Aid Module that came with ArmA2. At the same time a new Multiplayer Framework is presented for advanced scripters.
After many many months Bohemia Interactive finally announces the winners of the 2008 Community Awards!
Bohemia Interactive has now released the second part of the Developer's Diary for ArmA2. This time BIS' PR Manager Jan Prazak shows how the editor can be used in a beginner's video tutorial.

The OFPEC Face Library has been revised to enable browsing by face type (desert camo, celebrities, etc.) and we now have a section for Arma2 faces - with nothing in it. Submit your favourite face textures for inclusion!

Still waiting for someone to release your own national army as an Arma2 addon? Play the game as a UN Peacekeeper. Sander has updated his UN Peacekeepers to version 1.02 and released them on the Armaholic forums.
We're looking for some nice new Arma2 images to go into the OFPEC header. If you have a couple of minutes to spare, why not load up the game and grab a gorgeous screenshot.
Submit them here, and help keep OFPEC looking fresh as a daisy!

OFPEC Site Admin Planck joined the site in 2002, the early days of the Community. His forum sig says "I know a little about a lot, and a lot about a little", which is a surprisingly apt description. Planck had skills and interests in many areas, yet practiced his crafts relatively quietly and without fanfare. So who was he?
When Bedges, Planck and I sat down and started this interview almost a year ago, Planck was reluctant to answer the questions. It wasn't until recently that he responded to the questions that Bedges and I came up with. Planck didn't need that kind of recognition to feel great about helping someone out with their project, no matter the skill level of the person. Whether it be modelling or configs, or texturing or islands, there isn't a single aspect of the game that he didn't have his fingers into or some knowledge about.
Planck's breadth of knowledge about the game, his drive to be as accurate as possible, and his friendly nature will not be forgotten. The staff of OFPEC will sure miss such a great legend.
Bohemia Interractive has started a developer's video diary, explaining how to play Arma2 properly. The first episode is now available on the Arma2 web site.
