Creating a Blood Trail

Doe anyone have a working example of a blood trail.  I would like to use it if I may, in a mission where the players find an ambushed convoy and there is a blood trail for them to follow.

Not sure if it would work, but could create a soldier, setdamage him, set pos him to pre-layed markers along the trail you want the blood, then delete him...may work.
