I was sitting around messing with the motorcycle yesterday thinking how cool it would be to have a dirt bike to use.  I wondered why only a few people have taken advantage of the new motorcycles.

Looks great.  I can't wait to use it.  I'm thinking about making a mission using it.

Superb and very welcome addon

only thing I can come up with here, is that the bike should not be able to exceed 175. First of all because its very unrealistic without a major kit for the bike and a 6 speed transmission :)

The AI handlig of the bike is as far as I can tell superb, whether they are driving alone or in a group. They AI dont seem to have any problems with the speed either, witch is only perfect.

Hint: Try knocking one of the dudes of hes bike when he comes out of a long straight road with 150kt or above. Its major fun and allmost imposible to do without a homing device of some sort.

Double hint: Do not try to knock him of the bike if he comes straight towards you. At high speed the bike will with out trouble travel another 75 - 120m and it WILL kill you on impact.

I set the max speed at 160kph, but the way the code works, a human rider can exceed the max set. The AI will stick to the max though.

AI handling was one thing I worked alot on, nothing worse and more frustrating than seeing AI riders run into walls or signposts as they try to take a corner. They will still come off in some places, but there wasn't much I could do about it.

If you find the AI consistently crashing in a spot, then put a waypoint at the trouble spot, as this will make them slow down at that point.

brilliant AI matey... it works a treat. I tested them in a group riding over rough terrain at night... they do it perfectly...

they dont head over to the nearest road, but will try and take the route you want and they follow each other and drive like a charm...

i also got one to drive through the open forests of Nogova - looked great - very cool for a mission where you have escaped from prison.

one things tho - the engine sound - now, my Kawasaki is a 4 stroke engine, and it doesnt sound like the sound you have - its a good atempt, but it doesnt, umm, 'splutter' enough and isnt loud enough - these bikes are loud as hell - even with mufflers on... just a thought.

otherwise - great work as always

Top speed by non-AI riders seems a bit high from the feedback. I'll try to slow the bike down a bit in the next release, which should have a full desert version (Bike and Rider) and maybe some civ versions (brighter colors).

The problem with slowing the bike down is that the AI will only use the max speed as set in the cpp, while a human rider can exceed it. TO slow the human rider down, the AI will be slowed down as well.

keep me informed of any bugs so i can work on them

-------
Messiah,

If you could send me a recording of the bike in idle and also cruising, I can try to fix the sound to make it more realistic. What I need is a constant pitch sound clip (ie, no revving).

This is an awesome awesome bike you got here Select. But I agree with Messiah - the sound just doesn't sound right. Also one thing i've noticed and I'm not sure if you can fix this or not - but the bike can go underwater. Haha. At first it was cool when I was crossing the river on Ia Drang but then when I started venturing out into the ocean the coolness factor dropped. Can this be fixed at all?
Anyways. Good job as always.

Another bug:

When the tires are shot out, and you eject from the bike, so that it falls over, it does not fall over, but rather leans to one side, bounces, leans, bounces, which looks funny.

and there is no kicker - sorry my minds gona a blank to its name now, but the stick you kick down to keep the bike standing up..

now i know on mine i dont have one, because for racing you CANT risk it coming down if you slip with your foot, or cornering goes bad bad bad.

but for military use, wouldnt they have one? i dunno...

To add to my previous post, the tires do not even have to be shot out for the bike to not fall over.  I think the bars coming out of the side (yeah, I do not know any terminology) are keeping it from falling.

Also, would it be possible to have the status bars (the ones in the upper left that display armor, fuel, and weapon) not appear?
