Street Racer --- new campaign --- need ideas!

I am working on a new campaign called street racer, where you can street race and be chased by cops and even buy better cars. You start off with a mini cooper but you can, in the last couple of missions, buy a ferrari! After youve played/watched my "street racer campaign preview" mission, I would suggest you post some ideas, comments and suggestions here! the preview is located in the missions depot at:

it may look like a sucky preview and the only thing you can do is find a famous street racer in Saint Louis but you will see a quite cool intro and a cool outro too! Trust me my campaign is going to be better! Also I would like some idea's for both street racing and police escape missions! ;D

Righto, I played your mission, I guess you want a review.

Intro: Very nice idea, but please learn camera.sqs. At one point all i could see was this big-ass leaf for about 20 seconds lol  . The car drving was a good idea, the slowmo bit took a lil' long.

Mission: I started and i waited for a min to see if it told me what to do, but it didnt? I drove round town and then followed this mini but nothing happened so..  :-\

Outro: Was there one?

Not to be mean or anything but this mission a great idea but the mission itself..  :-\

erm well its not a beta.. its a PREVIEW ok? But yes I know its a bit sucky but when you end the campaign ill create another mission ofp nfs: cruiserz
that allows you to cruise around finding drag racers and you can race em for $500 and buy cars and side-arms for that. It sounds great but what the hell have I gotten into myself  

And I think the campaign is just going to be changed to ofp nfs: the beginning! It means operation flashpoint need for speed: the beginning for anyone who doesnt know what the game nfs looks like (i got nfsu2  ;D)"

I have finished mission 1 : the driving to the city like in the preview
I have finished mission 2 : the preview outro, the drag race
I have finished mission 3 : I have finished a cop getaway mission, and you recive a SMS message and having some "explosive" outro's
I am working on mission 4 : Getting your friend out of jail by busting those police with a mgjeep, but sadly falls apart after you finish the mission.
I am working on mission 5 : Possibly the longest race in the campaign from Saint Louis to Le Port (bottom of map)

Instructions for preview: drive to Saint Louis just above your current city La Trinite and if you cant find it look it up on the map. You should find some people stand in the garden 1 man with 2 ladies and 2 man watching him as body guards, your so called friend Tom Turbo, nicknamed "drag racer". Then if you get out of your car and walk into that place you should see a nice outro.  You have to find the place yourself but it is somewhere in the bottom right corner of Saint Louis

Oh and sorry bout my camera skills but I dont even know how to create a camera and im not going to try to till I find the effect to either 1 of these:
zoom out ; target a person and go al the way on the otherside of the map and target another without just going in a flash (meaning the camera flies to target)

My first uploaded mission on this site that didnt exceed 50kb so I didnt have to put it on freewebs ;D..

I am working on another campaign but it currently seems to be in a "halt" for this campaign.. Its also a beautiful campaign.. Especially the first weird mission with the "obstacel course" and the cool car vs car chases

Yes, the campaign has been renamed to OFP NFS: The Beginning and is FINISHED   ;D. It is a 5 mission campaign and it is ALLOT better than the preview itself! Upcoming campaign OFP NFS: Getaway Time! SPECIAL NOTE: I have tested my campaign a few times and I have noticed the black-out endings were you need to save, exit out the missions, and get in. This will stop the black-out from staying but it will also make you miss out on some very beautiful outro's that explain how the hell you got a sport car and how you won the races and how you got him out of jail. Also the jail mission where you can maybe see the green mini cooper in the tall grass. A captive (drag racer) is supposed to go in there but im affraid those cops shoot him. I will try to fix all these bugs and overwrite the current campaign. I have no time to do this now but Ill definatly do this tomorrow. Anyway is anyone actually wanting to play OFP NFS: Getaway Time yet ;D?

Righto, Sounds like its going good. you really need to learn camera scripting though. its not hard! Whats cars r u gonna use in ur campaign?

I rekon the BMW M3 or something would be cool  ;D

I think Im going to use a couple of custom cars and maybe some out the ferrari pack. Im waiting for a car to be finished that has nitro. There is a nitro script but that allows you to fly off the land lolz. Im atleast using these cars:

Jaguar  XJ-220
Corvette Stingray Grand Sport
BMW M5 (sorry I didnt have the BMW m3 and this 1 looks nice as well)
Subaru Impreza
Some ferraris out of the ferrary pack

I think theres some more cars going to be in the campaign becuase im going to try to make as much OFP NFS campaigns as possible altough I need some ideas! If you want to use any other car just tell me what 1 but I cant make all the cars in 1 campaign so you'll have to wait for the next after the pack of cars Ive just called out. In the game you currently used 4 cars so I think the list above is going to be used for 2 whole campaigns..

No, camera.sqs is too hard for me  .. zoom in S and setacctime 0.1 can mix very well when you go to another place the next 0.5 second if you know what I mean. OFP NFS: The Beginning is now anti-bug mode so I will remove most common bugs and the campaign will turn into v1.1! ;D

When you've finished (and perfected ;D) your campaign, perhaps you could make an MP mission of the same genre.

You could have a few meeting places round an island where players who joined the game go and chat and challenge eachother to races (and maybe even bet etc.).

You could also include the option to be a policeman - who has to find these locations and arrest the street racers - who then go to another meeting point that the cops don't know about (team chat etc.) and race there. Repeat until time limit.

Yes like I posted in eh.. reply something I may.. but making it online is indeed a good idea. I dont even know how to make respawn scripts so basically I can create the mission and somone TOTALLY has to do his best to do the scripts lolz  ;D.. good old lazy me  ;D

Yes it is about to get uploaded to v1.1 and you can now view some outros that were hidden by a serious bug causing the black-outs to make the game stay at that screen... Some outros will explain how you got a whit sport car after the jeep with MG and how it fell apart...

There have been made a few notes in the readme about the camera.sqs and the bugs so I recommend you to view it.

Maybe I can make a team with OFP NFS but I wonder if anyone wants to join already. Ive made 1 vacancy in the  recruitment depot but eh... would be cool  ;D

Im designing the picture (logo) of the campaign but im not sure how to use the pic.paa thingy. If somone can guide me to a tutorial on the forum or editor's depot or give it to me now it would be nice.

I really recommend you to re-download this version and delete the other.

P.S: did anyone finish the campaign and have any comments about it? (please comment after finishing the new version). I will be soon either tommorrow or the day after starting the new campaign OFP: Getaway Time

please post a story so I get some ideas and I will possibly credit you on the ending exept when its a cra**y 1.

If anyone wants voices in the campaign you can either volunteer yourself to make voices or just leave it like it is. It love it if you do and you would also be credited with special thanks. You will need to use your own tools and when you think you got some good voices you send them to me to johan@rensdata.com
altough I dont know how to extract the files I think you need to put the thing in the description.ext with possibly a script editor or by hand. Sorry for my laziness but its actually not laziness but lack of skill!  ... but its going to be a great campaign if people help

Actually opf is the BIS version (which actually makes more sense than the community one) and OFP is one that came around from somewhere

Stands for: OPeration Flashpoint - like Spec Ops etc.

Sorry for the delay but a mysterious.. something occured the computer to damage the ofp directory so badly it was unplayable and I had to reinstall.. I had to wait to put it on the site becuase the whole network was affected as well. Now im back in bussiness! (I dont work at my age but oh...) Yes the campaign is better and worse at the same time. Dont worry, its fun! Feel free to post comments whenever you want guys! The campaign forces you to download a lot of cars also unplayable but this has been done so you dont need to download any addons in the next series and you can already practise driving them! I have found out how to use custom sounds and music! I am adding custom music to the next campaign in these series. The only problem with this is that I have a young voice and a microphone that is hard to hear. So if anyone volunteers to be a voice actor or beta tester of my campaign series, or help with anything else, just pm me .. Id love to start a team for the campaign series! How bigger, how better the campaigns! The campaign is also downloadable in this thread. Its in the attachment and the addons required and links are in the readme. An easier way is to go to the link above and get off your butt and download it and download the addons and play it and and and nevermind  :-\.. While OFPEC was being hacked and under re-construction, ive been creating a single mission called ofp nfs: traitor trail. Its just a nice goodie for the delay. I have not yet thought about the OFP NFS: engine failure and am totally out of ideas for this campaign. Remember it has to do with the story. The mission is still under construction but it also plays a role in the story, whereby, David is a Russian. Before being able to visite the island and having rest, You and Drag as he now can be called, haven't noticed his Russian voice.

Story: 4 months after doing nothing in their new homes, at midnight, you 've heard explosions near Tom's house. You rush downstairs to get him. You get in 1 of your 2 sport cars (this small mission doesnt need any addons) and drive towards his home located at the map. You may notice some cars driving around. These are just made for the environment. As soon as you get to the crossing you notice dead Russians. Get out and take some of their weapons. Its best to go on foot from here. You propably see an American jeep escaping. This is David. Dont try to chase after him or kill him because you wont earn anything or win. Kill the Russian soldiers at the house guarding it. There should be 2 at a broken wall and 2 at another broken wall. You'll notice some text that will help you and explain some stuff. You soon notice the Americans, that found you at the airfield in Malden, were trying to defend you from incoming Russians, The nitro nerds are Russians and are trying to kill you now. Get drag racer in the safe zone by standing in front of him and if you've picked up a satchel, place it behind the fuel truck. If you haven't picked 1 up go back and pick 1 up. nv goggles are also there. Then when all the tanks and soldiers are killed you have won the mission. As soon as the fuel trucks explode the tanks will explode too. Triggers will force them to die if they dont if the fuel trucks explode.

Aww.. You.. tsk tsk... I need another name for him. Its his actual name becuase I havent used it by anyone calling his name. I dont even know a name .. IDEAS!!! QUICK! If youve got any ideas for an outro just give me them becuase im really running out of ideas... any fans or helpfull users PLEASE give me some ideas  .. I know some nice camera moves now and you guys should expect better camera performance! If youve died of my horrible camera skills just stay dead a litle longer becuase its still some basic skill ;D:D!!!

Hey johan.

Well, i tested all of your missions. Now - not to be mean, but heres a few things that i rekon you need to work on (construcitive Critisizm!   )

1: Intros for mission 1 and 2 are the same..
2: 1  mission is a 500m race down 1 road, and the ai collides after 5 seconds of racing..
3:Some of the writing it out of sync and triggers dont flip

Ways to fix (Heres the constructive bit!   )
1: Well, uh, Make a new intro? Its not very hard - Now that you know it it should be easy.
2: Move the cars starting pos around a bit
3: Timing, and its better to use scripts

Uh.. ure talking about campaign number 1 right? Just remember im going to make quite a lot campaigns so please tell me the name next time. Yes I have to redownload my own The Beginning campaign again after I had the mysterious removement of ofp. This doesnt matter. I know it takes quite long before I get the next campaign out, its the ideas :S. And also its other missions im working on. I want some free time lol ! But yea thanks for the ideas. The colliding and skills.. Well I dont think I can do much about it becuase if I moved them apart they would crash further on the road. And also they go slow in corners and stuff. OFP isnt really a street racing game lol. Im not skilled enough yet to improve AI's driving skill with a script. The double intro was indeed a bug where I forgot to clear out everything and missed out the intro. Im currently turning inside out and wow-ing at these cool camera.sqs thingys and im trying to find back my role-player map where I need a ags_build2.pbo addon :S.. Ill tell ya guys when I got that file.

Simply will not work with AI drivers. They will either crash or stop or go like 50kp/h , but it would work with MP. Remeber, You played 'Cop Chase 2-10' with me n that other guy a while back? Compare the AI driving to mine/yours/his driving and see which is better :wow:

Cars start, and go driving down the road. Jim and 2 other AI instantly crash and cars get destroyed, and you drive past and easily finnish the race ;D

lol indeed a bit dumb... I dont know how to make mp missions alright. Just leave it to me maybe ill make some stunt-man type stuff with just you. setvelocity commands can be usefull now too. I will be updating both campaigns shortly and will have that mission finished in 1-2 days. Ive currently got a mission for my half life 2 collectors edition so eh... its awesome and I dont really got time for OFP :\\... Remember I got over 200 computer games... so uh.. wich should I play ! bf192...hl2...c&c: generals... nvm
