Battles of 'Nam
« on: 14 Oct 2003, 23:10:29 »
Looking around lately and found that most people like the 'Nam mood. So taking time and looking back on the battles that whent on there. What caught my eye was the battle of Dak To. Some may know this city through an addon Ebud made. But the fact of the mater is, It was a huge battle point. This battle would be awsome if remade in OFP, hard but awsome.

More info plz.

One word of advice though: don't drag politics into Nam missions (xept when it's against the americans ;D ) it would put me off playing it.

Politics really shouldn't be brought into OFP at all unless they are a necessary part of a plot. Just keep the battles to interesting, difficult assignments in good environments and people will play.

Don't know how big Dak To was as a city, but knowing a few cities I think the battle would be far too big for OFP to handle. Don't know much about Dak To though. Here's a site with some info. Not much but still.

Dak To was a bloody battle. Think of it as this:
-Small US group(division) surprisingly runs into Enemy(NVA)
-US group(s) avoids the NVA
-US group under HEAVY fire
-Another group rescues
- A)Attacks FORTIFIED hill :beat:
B)NVA leaves area at the time before the attack
-US goes looking for them

Simple as that. There's more details in the site below.
