Title: War in Russia
Post by: Colonel Sartin on 27 Apr 2003, 05:40:55
Here's my idea.

Ungodly large amounts of oil are discovered on 2 Russian Islands, Nogova and Malden. Parts of the Russian military break away and claim the oil as there own. The US is furious about this so they send in a Rapid Deployment Force to covertly recalim the oil. But there is a twist; its not only psycho Russians who want the oil, some other countries do and they are willing to help keep the oil.

no offense, it's a good idea, but i'm sick to death of the russians. maybe you could make it that another country, or group of some sort that could be affiliated with them, wants the oil, and so does russia. russia can't go because they're a big country and it would destroy the image of their country rising from the ashes of communism and the cold war. so instead, they supply these guys with everything that they need, weapons, vehicles, trainer teams, whatever they want, and in return russia transports and sells the oil, and get's 60%-70& of the oil revenue.

do u think that's better? if not, stick with yours

lol, if the oil belonged to Russia then the US are in the wrong. Maybe the US want the oil for themselves, and they fight for it but in actual fact they're wrong.

no its a faction of the russian army takes it and the russian government cant take them on.

and to the previous person I would like to have another country be the bad guys but all of the equipment in the game has the red star on it.

so?
during the cold war, the russians funded a lot of paramilitary units, and other kinds of groups, so it could still have the red star on it. or, maybe the mujhadeen (afghanistan/russia war) sold them salvaged equipment from their war with the russians?
