Post by: dertn on 21 Feb 2003, 15:58:16: After yesterdays surfing session I got som bigtime inspiration:

To use OFP and the powers of the scripting language to make a RTS game Ã¡ la command & conquer. Where the player would be "god-like" and could use a point and click interface to build buildings (factories, machinegun nests, bunkers, etc) whom again produced certain (which one had to research to build) units. I've seen somewhere else on the net that some guys are doing this (you have to buy the thing when it's finished... understandable , since it's a big project)..
But why not try to create such a project???

Sorry btw if I posted this on the wrong board... forgive me ::)

Post by: macguba on 21 Feb 2003, 16:19:11: If you combine CoC (the chain of command mod, check the Ed Depot or their own website) and add to it one of the money scripts that are kicking around then you are more or less there ... all that's left is the buildings and that would not be hard to add - remember that mission in one of the campaigns when you had to place fences to defend the village against tanks?

Anyway, this should probably be on the Missions: Ideas board.

I was joking with a friend of mine, about transforming OPF from FPS to RPG or GodLike game, as the new versions of OFP have the OnMapSingleclick command... Unfourtunately we'll all need Resistance to accomplish that... And i think that's a kind of irealistic.......

And yeah, you posted in wrong board. ::)
