Title: What makes a mine... a mine?

As not knowing where to post this due to the fact I don't visit the addon wing much,
I figured it would be here just as well.

What makes a mine act as such?

Can a mine be detonated for wheeled vehicles, or infantry?
And can a mine be manually set off? And I don't mean creating a Sh_125_HE,
I mean actually setting off    the mine.

Same thing goes for satchels, too.

What makes them what they are, etc. as above.

My main objective is to see what can set off a mine (other than a massive vehicle on top of it).
