Is there anyway, friends, to update a mission without having to "submit" another mission and forcing a re-review? I was just wondering, because my first mission (new voices!) update is ready, and I want to put it "over" the first mission.
Or maybe I should release it with my second mission to soften the blow, if nothing else works?

YES!
Yes, oh yes, there is a way to update your submission. I'll walk you through it.
1. Login
2. Go to Missions Depot and find your mission
3. You'll see a modify icon like this (http://www.ofpec.com/yabbse/YaBBImages/topicsummary_modify.gif) Click it.
4. Now you'll see the mission details window. From here you can replace the submitted file with a new one, replace or add pictures, change the summary text, change version number, ect. ect. ect.
5. Push the Update button
6. Make a comment to the mission telling that you've updated the mission and what's different in the new version.
It's highly recommended that you update your submissions rather than submit new ones everytime. In fact I encourage updating so much that you can do a post in the 'mission depot comments' -board about your updated mission and it won't get locked as off topic or advertising. ;)

One thing you cannot seem to do is to change the OF version. When I submitted a mission recently I somehow left that set to 1.0. Doing everything that Artak says I still cannot seem to change it. I can (and have) updated the mission file though.

There's a bug in the system that prevents that. Even the staff is unable to change the version at the moment. We're hoping to get it sorted out as soon as possible.

I've only changed the one (we used that one for testing), so the remaining missions will need to be corrected at your own pace. :)

All my others were fine. Itwas just that one that needed to be changed.

Thankyou, comrades - never has so many people replied to one of me posts!
But wait a minute, where is the little modify icon located? I cannot find it! Aaaargh! Is it inside or outside the mission itself?
I'm beginning to fear that maybe I submitted the mission as a "visitor." Is there any staff member willing enough to check this for me? It should be submitted by "cameronmc", though the name is C.A. "Gaern" McDonald.

The modify button is shown on both mission summary and mission details.
Have you changed your nick at some point? I think the depot thinks you're not you anymore. Try changing back to the nick you had when you submitted the mission. ie the mission details say C.A. "Gaern" McDonald, but if your nick was "cameronmc" at the time you submitted, change it back.

Are you supposed to be able to modify missions that have already been reviewed? I can't do that to my mission "platoon commander". However, I can modify my pending mission "realistic combat patrol". I haven't ever changed my nick or anything like that.

Ah, no such luck. Grrr. I don't like this - my update has new voices and everything! Godarnit.
Methinks Barron is correct. Is there anyway of "repending" my mission, whilst keeping its review intact?

Authors should be able to update their both pending and reviewed submissions.
cameronmc, I have no idea why you're unable to update the mission. All I can say is "it shouldn't do that". I'll do some tests but I still have a strong feeling it has to do with the nick change.
General Barron, you should now be able to update your mission "platoon commander".

After changing my nick I still could modify my own submissions.
Could you give me the mission's name your talking about cameron?

That's what I thought. Everything seems ok with that mission.
I made it pending now though I doubt it will change anything. (?)
If a moderator happens to see this, maybe he could move this to the mission depot comments board.

OK, this is really getting on my nerve right about now. Sorry for causing such trouble, but - ah! - this thing is whack.
I've done all the macroscopic work - changed all the details, etc. Now I just need to upload the new file to OFPEC. I go down to the "replace file" box, check it, then browse and enter my mission's compy address in there.
Wait for bout 5 mins or so - and apparently the mission file doesn't exist. I have no idea how to continue. Please help! Eeeek!

Oh boy, I hope this won't come regular for every member who updates his mission. ;D
Now what's happened is that the old file got deleted when you tried replacing and the new one's upload was never finished. Maybe it's a big mission and the connection got timed out. It's pretty common.
The system works so that if there's no file to replace it can't be replaced. Computers.. pfft.
So what you need to do now is to resubmit the new version, just like you submitted the first version. I'll then cut/paste the review and all the info from the old submission to the new one.
Please don't make me do this again. ;)

Sorry, mate - thanks for even bothering. I'll message you again once I've done the thing correctly. It's something to do with my compy - the firewall is overpowering or summat. I'll do it from school, hehehehehe!
PS - sorry to the mission depot fellahs, I just uploaded two screwy versions to the pending area. I've earmarked them for destruction.

Now it is my turn to be a pain. You said that authors should be able to update reviewed missions. I have just had one reviewed and it has a silly fault (the dates of the Intro and the Mission don't match!!). But I do not get an option to update it.
If that is how it is then I am ok, but if it is possible but I am missing something then I would like to fix it.

Thanks. I can do that for Pending missions, but I don't get a modify icon for Reviewed missions.

It apears that I was mistaken. Reviewed missions can't be updated by author, at least not for now. :-\

Just while I'm trying to update this thing, how in the name of gravy do we send in a proper, sound-and-music-filed campaign to this thing? I was just curious, cos my 1st and 2nd missions (far from my end campaign, mind thou) are 10 meg together - a bit big for ye ole 5 meg limit!
I suppose I'd just have to send 'em in in instalments?

You can upload the campaign zip on your own site and use that as a mirror address in the submission form.

Ahhh... hey Artak, just a thought - could any hyphens in a filename screw up the system? That MAY just be the reason ye ole file won't go in. And another thing - would Winsplitting the file have adverse effects of some kind?

My compy with OFP is not internet connected. Thus, I have to transfer it to this one here with Winsplit - an excellent program which splits files into floppy-sized bits for transfer.
<sigh> I'm never gonna get this thing updated - but the update is worth it. I wonder what went wrong. Maybe I should try creating another account. Or just not bother.

Like suicide, changing account is no answer. I think what ever issues you might have with Winsplit are irrelevant. The discussion in this thread raised us to think about our current policy and if we even had one. A line has been drawn now and it says that reviewed missions can not be updated and they will not be made pending for authors to modify.
Please take time to read the threads in the above links.
cameronmc, seeing that you no longer have your account in use, I think updating your mission has now lost all hope. I have now unpended your mission again.
