Title: How did we ever miss this idea?!?!?!

I'm going to start a new mission based around the idea of the book "Red Storm Rising". I can't believe no one has tried to make any missions around the ideas in this book about the chaotic warfare!!!

Don't you just love Tom Clancy?  It has been a while since I read that one, however (the Russians invade Iceland, right?).  Also note the use of BMDs in conjuction with BMPs.   ;)

Yeah, that is probably the best book I've ever read. but scince OFP doesent allow such big battles, it'd be hard. Great idea though, wud be brilliant if it was made.

I love the idea of a Red Storm Rising campaign! It would mean though adding a few new units. ??? Anyways if you like Tom Clancy books you should try reading Patrick Robinson. He's excellent.

I thought of that about a year ago, then thought "bollocks, how the hell can i represent a battle for europe on 3 10km2  maps"

Maybe one for OFP2 eh?

Yeah, the problem with those big USA vs Russia campaigns is that there's not enough room and you really can't get all the units you need to make it feel realistic on the map at once.

Plus you'd really need to make new islands for the parts of Europe...a long time ago we tried setting a campaign in Europe but it was rather foolish since you had been all over the islands a hundred times already and now we were calling them Poland and Germany and such....just didn't pan out.

 I've got a double sized island... just nothin but sand on it though  :P

it's even possible to make an "island" that's 4 time the size of Nogova if you really wanted to  :o

yeah, but you'd need a pretty powerful computer to run one that size with cities in and stuff.
