Title: AMORE - A different kind of addon

Avon's Multimedia for Ofp REpository (AMORE) is a new and easy way to distribute OFP music and sound files separately from the missions they've been bundled into until now.

What's that good for? How does it work? What other uses does AMORE have? Is AMORE proprietary? You can find out by going straight to The FAQ's (http://www.theavonlady.org/theofpfaq/) new AMORE section, now listed on The FAQ's left side menu (if you don't see it there, refresh/reload the menu's frame).

AMORE is a working concept in progress, so bear with me while it takes shape. Thanks!

I can tell you some things that AMORE is immediately looking for:

1. A sample mission, designed to AMORE standards, along with it's associated AMORE files.

2. Technical articles on creating sound mod config.cpp files using AMORE.

Questions...

Lets say I created a file that has a guy say, "Honey, I am running to the store to get some milk" and someone else has created the same file. I noticed you have to use your OFPEC tag but obviously you don't want duplicate files on the site.

Example: Your "Band of Brothers" theme on the Avon site

1. So how do you filter through them?
2. How do you determine which audio file has better quality?
3. Do I have to post just on your site?
4. How do we prevent someone from getting credit from someone else's work?

With add-ons that is easy to control the credit and we know how to spot hacks but with sound files you can create them very quickly... I am rambling here, I know. I understand using the OFPEC code for weapon packs and such but for normal voices is it really needed? Or is it?

I am still trying to understand the OFPEC tag myself.... Never had to use one yet but I have one registered ;D

My brain hurtsâ€Â¦. All these new and lovable toys coming out and I don't get much time to play with them

im guessing but
2. actually LISTEN to them to determin the sound quality
3. maybe this is for us poor 56kers so we can download the files serparately an not have one large file to download
4. dunno but im thinkin really hard how to do it

can you use the amore sounds in your mission/campaign or are these just sounds for addons? ???

The whole idea is to use them in missions/campaigns!   ;)

It's very cool and would be even cooler if more people used it...
