I would liek you to tell me if you see things that were made wrong, etc. Also evis if your checking this, tell me if its better than my last huey(u know the shitty one :))

better than the old one although making hueys isnt going to be a very worthwile thing if your just taking it up, the uh-1d's are pretty covered and i know of an amazing uh-1n coming (not mine)
-
Looking good so far, allthough I want to see it in game on my own machine before I make final statements :)
evis:

Erm, why didn't you open a seperate thread for this announcement? Why do you try to stop him? Did he ask if there are other UH1's in the pipeline? Does it matter at all?
-
Nah he isnt tring to stop me. Its ok to say that there is a better Huey that is coming. Anyway I ahd to make this huey for dstorm MOD so whatever.
It will be released too, maybe it wont be the best but at least ill be proud cuz ive made it :)

Looks Pretty Good man!

that looks pretty good Quakegamer,...If I might make a suggestion...(You should obviously make one outfitted with an M60 in the door gunner position of course)...But also, you may not know this,....sometimes the door gunner will use an SAW.
That would definitely set yours apart from the other ones out there..
-
Great job Man
but how many polys is it ? :-\

3000 in oxy and it goes down with MY lods. But it runs fine in game and I have the normal poly count for BIS choppers model :)

Well my versions are:
M2, M60, Maybe SAW (dontknow if it was used in the gulf), gau8 minigun and rockets version(any rockets).
-
quake..if yours actually gets done and released you'll set yourself apart from everybody else makin one cause...it seems like EVERYONE is making one..but strangly none are ever released...but it looks really good...it would really fit with Fransdens marines...so please don't disappoint :-)

if my beta testing team find the bugs rapidly itll be released in 2 weeks :).(with USMC textures and all).
And vietnam pack one looks good but its UH1D (i think) so mine should be quite good. Only mine and Evis one(or whatever).
BTW no SAW version it was never used sorry

Yes, they sure were. If you would like to see how an SAW is utilized in a UH1,...there is a good example of it in the movie "Courage Under Fire", (the one about the female SAR pilot who is posthumously nominated for the Medal Of Honor after she was killed in Desert Storm)
The door gunner on her Huey was armed with an SAW
(I doubt OFP engine will let you mount it on the straps,...but you could still "hard mount" :) it

Thiswil be the final version of the model and its getting textured. i may have an update on the textures today :)

Mad Medic...Courage Under Fire was fake and wasn't based an ounce on fact..maybe thas why it sucked so bad or just the cheezy storyline.........so that kinda leaves ur point about SAWs being on UH-1's null...and no, they don't use sAW's
-
Alas,...I DO stand corrected so to speak,...However, the reference to the movie "Courage Under Fire" was not in any way meant to say that the movie was factual, or correct...But merely to illustrate the way the MG was mounted (on slings) which was very common during the Viet Nam era with M60s, particularly on choppers that were not equipped with a hard mount.
The reference to using an SAW, I have to admit, was hastily posted... Not a standard loadout...The 7.62 Nato M240 IS however part of the possible standard loadout on a current UH1 variant.
One thing that should be kept in mind as far as loadouts go (this part is actually more of a Viet Nam era note)... Air Crews would frequently "make up" loadouts, by retro-fitting various different armaments to Hueys (which undoubtably is where some of the "official" loadouts evolved from)...so, as long as you dont get CRAZY,...most realistic armaments for a chopper can be acceptable.
here is a link with some cool Huey pics (I particularly like the one with the door mounted mini gun, and search light...right about in the middle of the pics)http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/aircraft/uh-1v.htm (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/aircraft/uh-1v.htm)

Nice ;) I like it, with the icon is there gonna be transparency??
other wise very nice, try pulling the sliding door out a bit, and a bit more foreward toward the front of chopper
yet, very cool ;)

The way I saw the movie, it didn't look like the SAW was mounted at all...the gunner was hanging from the straps. I thought he was a regular grunt who just happened to have a SAW and be riding on the Huey.
Anyone read the book Maverick? He was a Nam gunny pilot, and when he was in Huey-C's he mounted a .50 cal in the back and found an Air Force 19 shot rocket pod, and used em both in combat...so yeah, you'll find some seriously sick retrofitted gear on choppers sometimes.
