Title: Type in commands in SP.
Post by: Homefry31464 on 21 Mar 2003, 23:23:28
Is there a way to type something in and have it do something i your mission?  I am thinking like request air support, and all you have to do is type in that you need an airstrike.  Another idea is to be able to have alot of commands that you can simply type in, instead of adding it in radio commands.  Just an idea.  :)

???  So what's  your question?    What's wrong with calling in an airstrike by radio?

"Commands you can type in"   Commands to do what?

Are you talking about dialogues?  (Check tutes for details)

I think he means to actually type something, say "Hey, we need some air support over here!" and have his player say that, and then have some planes or gunships come on over and help you out.  I don't see how that's possible.  Just use radio commands or other triggers.  You can always have your player (or any other unit) say something over the radio using this command:

(unit name) sidechat "Here's what you'll see on the screen, in blue letters"

There are no () around unit name when you type it, though, just the name.  I just wanted to seperate that from the rest.

Okay, thanks for your help.  I did mean type in something like "Air Support" or "flank left".  That's okay, I will just use Radio Commands.  Thanks though.

Radio's can be a big pain sometimes.. in one of my own missions i once pushed the wrong radio command so instead of a certain team doing something i sent in the other team first wich was like sending in a Worm to beat up a Chicken!
