Title: Landrover 110
Post by: DeLiltMon on 20 Aug 2002, 12:26:37
Yay, OPFEC is back up and I've decided to move my topic in here as it's no longer an idea but a big lump of 3d model!
First topic on the board too  ;D
Havent got any progress pics as Milkshape is knackered again, bl00dy registration crap, this is the second time it's "expired" even though it's registered!  >:( Think I'll give up on it and use GMAX, only problem is I've gotta get it working so I can convert the model  :(
I'll try and remeber to post all the pics I put up on the old forum tonight so you can have something to look at while I try and fix Milkshape.

Hey DeLiltMon!

I hope everything works out soon and goes smoothly from this point on, your Landy is the only decent addon that's in the works IMHO. All we need after this is a few tanks, a couple of helis and some decent soldiers and weapons, and us Brits can all kick Russian a$$ happy in the knowledge that there are no Americans around to spoil it for us.  ;)

Thanks Shady, there's a rumour going through the BIS Forums that O2 maybe released soon  :D I just hope it's true.
Gonna try and remove all trace of Milkshape from my machine tonight and then download the latest trial version. If O2 is on it's way I wont need Milkshape anymore, except to convert the model to a format that can be used by O2 - after that there will be a ceremonial deleting of Milkshape cos it really is a pile of shite!

We'll always need yanks about with all their technology, say, does anyone know of a good "friendly fire" script?  :P (And before anyone starts a flame war here THIS IS A JOKE, A HUMOUROUS COMMENT)

Go into RegEdit into your Windows file and edit your registry - that's were progs like Milkshape keep the details of when the program was installed so people can only use it once. Delete all entries of "Milkshape" and then search the "InstallShield" file for the installation file for "Milkshape" - delete that too. Then reinstall et voila! - hopefully, I've not tried it with M3D but it works on other progs with similar expiry systems.

Hey again!

I thought modern computers were supposed to be simple to maintain! And my new ninja P4 1.0 gig with all the trimmings runs slower than an astmhatic ant with some heavy shopping bags because XP needs to have a little think every time I try to do TWO THINGS AT ONCE!! As in simultaneously!

Oh, and on the American thing, I'm not having a go at our ex-colonials, but how the heck can you mistake a wedding for a group of Taliban fighters shooting at you? :hmm:  I mean, once mistook a cow for a very unhealthy looking horse, but at least my excuse came in several bottles with "40% Proof" on them.

Oh, and DeLiltMon, any chance of one of those great army Harleys after you finish up your Landy? No pressure, just a thought. I'll post a piccy of one if I find it

This websites got quite a few pics of Landy 110's and 130's in different 'modes'

Its the Turkish military versions i think, but still handy as i reckon the only differences would be in the lettering styles, and there's NATO specs at the bottom of each pic

Website here (http://katalog.ssm.gov.tr/english/130e.htm)

Hmmm looks like Turkey uses standard landies apart from the 130 Rapier Tractor, which could be Ex-MOD since they are now being disposed of in favour of the M548 based all in one unit.

A Defender 110 - the ultimate vehicle, can take 17 (yes one seven) Queens own Highlanders from London to Inverness in complete comfort...

well the comfort bit is a lie, but it is still an excellent vehicle.

And for reasons for gloating my comp is 2.2 GHZ, 40 Gigs Hard Drive, 256 RAM, 128 Graphics card...

The great thing about the Landy is that it's so adaptable. It can be used as anything from a utility truck to a FAV to a gun tractor. And it fits on aircraft, unlike a certain American 4x4...
The point of this post? Well, none really, I just thought that the adaptability of the Landy means that if DeLiltMon vows never to model again (which would be a blow to the modelling community, as he's making a useful vehicle, no a Nimitz or a B-52), if he lets someone edit his Landy, then we could quite feasibly have everything from open/covered wagons to SAS style FAVs and even Northern Ireland-style Macralon armoured Landies!

Which would be nice  ;D

I think the armoured Landy would be great in a British campaign, say if the locals hate the squaddies, which they seem to do until there's a war on and the squaddies do what they have been trained for.  >:(

uhhh he aint the only one making land rovers mate,

the falklands war mod is having about 4 made for the mod - i cant fully remember but i think were having a defender 110 LWB and SWB, and a defender 90, LWB and SWB.
Title: Re:Landrover 110
Post by: Mr_Shady on 25 Aug 2002, 00:40:31
I didn't say he was the only guy making a Landy, sorry if I gave that impression.

Any pics up of the Falklands Mod Landies yet? I'm dying to drive a 110 in the game, cause the jeep is too weedy, the hummer's too big and the UAZ is frankly cr@p  ::)

Sorry for the lack of updates, my mother's been in hospital since Thursday (they let her come home today though) so I havent had a chance to do much really,, still havent managed to sort out Milkshape, gonna hack the registry to bits later - that'll learn it good! Then I'm gonna download GMAX and forget all about Milkshape.
What's all this talk of me giving up? I dont know, don't post anything for a couple of days and it's all doom and gloom ;)
There are only 2 mod teams (excluding Falklands which until I read this I wasnt aware they were) that are making landies, the Royal Forces and the SAS (who I have been having discussions with lately).
If the Falklands mod are doing landies wouldnt they be short (88") and long (109") wheelbase Series III landies? Stu35 btw a 110 is a long wheelbase version of the Defender and the 90 is the swb - not being picky, you just pick that sort of useless info up when you spend as long as I have trawling through landrover sites  :D

:-\ sorry to hear about your old dear mate :-\
also I have heard that sneaky lil dudes are going to put 02 up for public release on flashpoint1985.com sounds good to me :D

Title: Re:Landrover 110
Post by: DeLiltMon on 26 Aug 2002, 23:35:14
Thanks Davies1, mmm pub, no must resist, work tomorrow  :(
I think I should have the Milkshaope problem sorted - I'm gonna d/l Milkshape in work so I can convert the model to something that can be used by gmax (or possibly even O2 - we can but hope), which I'm about to download, as I still can't get rid of Milkshape, I've uninstalled it and scoured the registry but it still reckons it's expired when I re-install it and the registry codes that I edited last time it screwed up are no longer there  >:( Milkshape is the tool of the Devil I tells ya!Oh yeah, almost forgot, what the best format to convert to fo importing into gmax? .obj?
Title: Re:Landrover 110
Post by: Mr_Shady on 26 Aug 2002, 23:46:05
Hey again

Sorry to hear about your mam DeLiltMon, hope she's okay.

Hey, I had a similar problem with Milkshape. I tried swearing, cursing, kicking, hollering and other forms of abuse, then I gave up and sold my old PC and got a new one. Problem solved!  ;D

Seriously though, I've found that the only simple way of getting rid of cr@p like that is to backup and reformat. Which is a pain in the ar$e at the best of times, so I don't know why I recommended it.

Okay, I'll be quiet now...

My thoughts exactly, it's not as if they are there to do work on, we actually counted the machines we've got the other day and not including servers, it works out to 5 PCs each, not bad for a team of 3 ;D

Couldn't agree more, there are too many ingnorant feckers, especially on the roads, but enough of this before it turns into a full scale rant.
I havent had a chance to convert the model - I'm off to Florida on Saturday for a fortnight and it seems that just about everything that can go wrong has this week in work  :(
but hopefully when I come back O2 will be available to the great unwashed and I'll be able to import it straight into that.

Aww, thanks lads.... I seem to have something in my eye....  :'(

I also believe that there are too many ignorant feckers on the internet. Maybe we should have something called the Briternet where only us Brits can do stuff without rampaging hordes of american trolls degenerating society until it's a bunch of men with beards and animal skin clothes hurling rocks at each other and going "1 4/\/\ L33T!!".

***DISCLAIMER***

This is not the view of Shady, this is a Humourous Comment(tm) and no offence is meant to our American...... hnnngh .... cousins

But seriously, if everyone was nice to each other, we'd all be happy and there'd be no more wars and money would be worthless as people would give stuff to each other and maybe even Jen would like me....

Okay, not much chance of the last one. Dammit.  >:(

This is getting waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off topic now lads, but it's good to talk exclusively to some British guys for a change!

The US is the only country that employs tank rushes and plane rushes... maybe they played too much Red Alert when they were in officer training, I dunno. I mean, Afghanistan. 99% hills, goats and sand. Does it justify swarms of B-52's whanging bombs all over the bl00dy place?

And now they're kicking off with Saddam again. IMHO, they should have got that crazy b*****d in 91, instead of wrapping up early and letting him off the hook, effectively. Now he's rebuilt his army and a lot of people are going to die because it seemed a good idea to call the war off when we were winning so we could save some cash...

OK, rant over.

As ever:

This is a public service announcement, brought to you, in part, by Mr Shady (AKA RabidOffspringFan1986 or PezKing or LessThanJakebutMoreThanYou). The views expressed in his posts are either intended to be taken humourously, or in the case of the last one, or taken as someone's opinion, right or wrong, intelligent or just plain stupid. If you don't like it, I apologies. It is by no means Mr Shady's intention to initiate yet another bl00dy flame war. Even if it seems like only Davies1 and DeLiltMon post on this thread now, but hey, that's not the point.

Bl00dy hell, these disclaimers are getting bigger and bigger!

i dont suppose theres any chance of getting a Perentie anytime soon? The Perentie 4x4 is just lightly modified LR Defender 110 (http://www.4wdonline.com/Perentie/4x4.html (http://www.4wdonline.com/Perentie/4x4.html)).

the 6x6 model might need abit of work though still its a very cool vehicle (http://www.4wdonline.com/Perentie/6x6.html (http://www.4wdonline.com/Perentie/6x6.html) http://www.landroverclub.net/Club/HTML/Perentie.htm (http://www.landroverclub.net/Club/HTML/Perentie.htm))

DeadMeat, you AGREE with me? Or is it a cunning ploy so you can beat my head in with a crowbar whilst my guard's down?  ???

This forum's really friendly (proof: only one guy's mention Jen. Read my personal text. Go figure) but there's always the odd prat to ruin a great thread. Look at the Female Addons and Female Addons, Again thread over in Addons Ideas. One guy made some dumb jokes and got the first one locked, then got himself banned from the second. The moderators may seem like the Gestapo sometimes, but at least they keep the forum free of really out of order people.

Just my aimless ramblings.

Not much to do until DeLiltMon gets back, and calling the Americans is so passe, so let's start on the French!!

(That was an ironic joke for the record. Don't kill me or anything)

I hope the Falklands Mod AREN't making any Defenders, they didn't start to get issued until the late '80s. Before that was the Series III, 109 LWB, can't remember what the short wheel base was.

I find Landrovers a rather funny part of the Falklands Mod, we had an interestsing discussion which ended up with an agreement that Landrovers where used in the Falklands..

All I will say he that said no found the yes answer...and had to backtrack rather fast...

I am looking forward to seeing a landy on my airfield.  It will just need that yellow strip down the side saying 'ROYAL AIR FORCE' down the side...

Also we have a Yoemanry detachment with armed open recon versions just round the corner too.. (I always give them prority when on a roundabout, am not arguing with that)

DeLiltMon- Welcome back from your hols! Bet you're chuffed to bits, especially being back to work-NOT!
Good luck with O2, I've got to uninstall everything from Codemasters and start again. Don't try to have O2 viewer open in a window, it doesn't work, but it won't open o2 again so you're buggered really. It seems to write something in your registry as well, so just uninstalling o2 doesn't work.

Mr Shady- a Wolf is the newest military version of the Landrover. Did you get my mail?

However I found the source of the missing polygons this morning, they went AWOL when I did the export from Milkshape, so I'll be redoing that today (and I'll be actually checking the exported file this time) and trying my best not to throw my home pc out of the window tonight

heh I hate pc's too. I got XP and it says that you can just update any version of windows with it instead of a clean boot. The only trouble is that it doesn't actually work and it keeps loading old drivers that are not compatible with XP- How testicles is that?
After losing a few hairs and draining a bottle or two of highly flammable substances I just clean installed it, arf, no problems so far (touch wood)

ON TOPIC: Good to see that the conversion to 02 is giving you grief because I had a hard day at work ;)

Seriously keep it up mate, too many people have disappeared off the face of the earth with their addons, i'm hoping to see some modern brit soldier addons for resistance soon too. I got an SAS pack, but the camo looks distressingly like diahrroea.

Yet more progress, I've sorted the missing polygons problem - it was bloody milkshape again, I'll be glad when I dont have to use it ever again, I've exported it as .obj this time and everything seems to be still in place. I'll run it through Aminm8tor tonight and then import it into O2 and with a bit of luck I'll finally be back on track.

I am looking forward to this..

I am starting to get fed up with driving around a RAF base in humvess or jeeps.

A Landrover with 'Royal Air Force' down the side will fit in rather well (I am willing to try the re-texturing for that, but maker gets credit)

Yeah, what else are the snowdrops going to pic us up in after a long drinking session ;) and take us back to base in?

Seriously tho, the jeeps are driving me nuts!9pun intended) they just don't cut it off road, can't wait to get hold of the landy ;)

Will you be making variants of the Landy, LiltMon? Just wondering... I'd love to see a Marcrolon armoured Landy or the Northern-Ireland styled ones, with everything stripped off (doors, windscreens, tailgates etcs)    ;D

I can't wait for some good British stuff to come out- Uncle Sam's boys don't cut the mustard for me, I'm afraid. Just give me a gympi and a few belts and tuck a Browning down the front of me pants and I'll sort out those red commie b*****ds  :D

No offence to any commies, natch.

Thanks DeadMeat, I'll see what me and a 24 pack of Stella can come up with tonight  ;D
Just one question at the moment though with regards to the LODs, my main model is somewhere in the region of 1300-1400 thingamajigs (sorry the name escapes me at the moment, I think it's time I went home my head is cooked)
how much do you reckon I should drop it for the lower details LODs? I.E. LOD 2 ~900-1000, LOD 3 ~700-800
Title: Re:Landrover 110
Post by: DeadMeatXM2 on 04 Oct 2002, 15:34:29
Well, SelectThis (God of ofp editing) recons that lod 1 (0.750 or something like that) can have up to 4500 polys, LOD 2 - 3000 polys, LOD 3 - 1000 polys, LOD 4 - 300 polys, LOD 5 - 100 polys (polys being shor for polygons)

So, you've got plenty of poly's to play with mate ;) and your estimates are about right.

btw, i'd love to help you with your models, so if the Stella can't, i'll be here tomorrow ;)

Exellenté, I cant beleive I actually forgot "polygons", after I posted that I went out had a walk around town and then it came back to me, been doing an on-line training course, bloody thing had me designing networks and domain trees and stuff, just what I need on a Friday! And now to top it off I gotta write some fiction on what I've been doing this week, since I cant very well put, messed about with server, broke server, fixed server, checked OFPEC forums, stared out of window, used asset management software to look for mp3s on other people's machines and copy them if they are any good, spent an hour wandering round the building carry 5m of rj45 cable, a 10/100 network card and a screwdriver, spent afternoon on SurfControl laughing at the sites people are accessing  ;D

Completion dates,  :o,  :noo: NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
* rocks gently back and forth whilst hugging knees *

I'll have to ask the voices for that... they say that once the textures are re-applied I should be sorted, I've got demo model to use for reference and DeadMeat has offered his advice for when I get stuck, all I need is the time - been aweful busy in work lately.  :(

Finally had a chance to look at the textures last night and after a bit of jigery pokery in PSP (I had to resave them all as .jpg instead of .tga before loading them into texview, not sure why but when I tried loading the .tga versions it came up blank  :-\) they are now saved as .pac   :D
So I should have them applied tonight and then it'll be LOD time.  ;)

I've got pics of an M.O.D. Landy dash (a 130 ambulance) thanks to Woofer and his wedding photographer mate  :D
I'm going to have a butchers at the landrover website today to see if I can get the specs for a 110 (speed, weight, etc) to use in the config file.

dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit!!!! I forgot the bloody pic again so once more you'll have to use your imagination until I get home from work  :(
I managed to get the model in-game last night and I found out a few essential things need changing:
1 the model is arse backards so I need to rotate it, time for the rotating hammer
2 it's a bit on the small side, out with the rescaling hammer  ;)
3 The soft top, mirror frames and windscreen frame need to be double sided faces, when you look into the open windows you can see straight through - kinda freaky but no doubt a good camoflague trick  :D
Other than that it looks pretty good, I'm glad I've finally had the chance to run around it and look into the windows properly  :D
One question I have though: is there anyway to hide faces in the viewer (be handy for when I texture the inside), I've tried hiding the roof using ctrl-H but it's still there in bulldozer  ???

Don't see why not, after all it's just a case of removing the roof(or all of it in the case of a pinkie  ;)),  it'd be nice to have a gympy to stick on it too  :D

Thanks for the pic Woofer should help alot with the scaling  :D, did they want your SA80 or were they happy to stick with Mikhail Kalichinkov's creation?

Thanks to DeadMeat and his steb by step, idiot proof instructions over MSIM it now has a very low poly LOD and a shadow! The list of things to do gets ever smaller, just gotta finish texturing the inside, do the other detail LODs, finish the geometry LOD and add all the nice Czech names to make the wheels on the landy go round and round  :)
Oh and make the rear window transparent and I suppose I'd better replace the standard jeep steering wheel with one that's got Land Rover in the middle  ;) which means ALpha Channels  ??? which I still dont get  :( I don't suppose anyone could do me a huge favour and alpha up the textures if I send them the pics? Or failing that recommend a good tutorial (large print or pop-up book format preferable  ;)) on doing Alpha's in Paint Shop Pro.

Took me puter down my mates house yesterday and had a LAN game of OPF and found out that once more I suck at it :( cos I haven't played it for so long, managed to lead the squad straight into the line of fire of a Ruskie with a PK hiding in a bush, lost half of them in the first burst :(, so then I stole a BRDM and tried to run em all over :D Ah well practice time after the landy is finished - gonna have to run it in for the first 100miles anyway ;)

Lovely day that. This group of ruskies advancing on me with all that body armour and stuff, thought I'd parked in their space or something. They seemed upset when I took the mag off before letting em near it (strange that).

Anyhow a french APC turned up with troops sticking out of all the hatches. And they were loaded for bear. FAMAS, MG's, sniper rifles etc. Should have seen their faces when the ruskies went straight back inside after getting the pics

Title: Re:Landrover 110
Post by: DeLiltMon on 23 Oct 2002, 11:15:35
Thanks m8ey but I think I should be alright with the wheels, it's one of the things covered in brsseb's tutorial  :)

One thing I'm not sure of is what the resolution LODs actually do, are they for different view distances (in which case I can rip the inside of the landy out first for poly reduction) or are they used for different display settings in which case I'll have to have some form of innards.
Title: Re:Landrover 110
Post by: DeadMeatXM2 on 23 Oct 2002, 12:24:09
the first resolution lod is used for the close up detail - what you see when you're standing next to the landy, the next on needs to be reasonably detailed as people on lower spec machines will see this as the close up model, after that, yes they are for view distances, so you can rip bits out of the inside/underside tro reduce the poly count - the lowest one you should use is the one we made over msn, (but change the value to about 8 to 10 ;)
Title: Re:Landrover 110
Post by: DeLiltMon on 23 Oct 2002, 12:44:47
As a rough guide how many poly's should I be looking to loose between LODs and how many LODs do I need?

Any way - youre aiming to have this no. of polys per lod

LOD 1 - 4000
LOD 2 - 3000

lol. gonna print the and mount it with the photo.

Don't want a Royal Marine lid though  :P. Knowing my luck, if they made a film of my life it'd be Mel Gibson in the title role and not me. (Follow it - it's irony)

This is my first post in this thread(i think) but Ive been following it since the old forum :D(was it in them ?? )

But this is off topic of the landrover but on the topic of Brit gear, who was the guy in the old fforums who was building the STRIKER?? whats going on with that

anyway, cant wait for this mofo

P.S)Operation Ivy is the best band in history, everyone should listen to them

I think it was Smudge that was making the Striker.
And yes it was in the old forum complete with all the gory details of my titanic struggle to get bloody Milkshape to work.

Any way - youre aiming to have this no. of polys per lod

LOD 1 - 4000
LOD 2 - 3000
LOD 3 - 1000
LOD 4 - 500
LOD 5 - 300
I'm way under the that, LOD 1 is about 1100 :D but I'm sure I can find things to hack out for the other LODs
Got the joys of finishing the textures for the dash first though.

Davies, you blasphemous dog! If I had the time/energy to spare, I'd draw up the hierarchy of my new religion (The Church of Grohl-Foo) and then, when I rule the world and it is the recognised world religion, I might just have you crucified on a giant Flying V alongside Sum41 and Blink182, probably The Hives and Slipknot. But then again, if I was ruler of the world, I'd be busy implementing cool laws like all the cute girls in my college being forbidden to wear more material than a handkerchief. And making the global anthem Do the Evolution by Pearl Jam. Meh.  :-\

Mmmmmm tea now there's an idea - GARY PUT THE BLOODY KETTLE ON! oops I meant to say that not type it.

I think a Norwegian would be very much appreciated, I'm sure the mission makers at Hoffman's Luck could add the odd tea break cut scene  ;)

As for the Green Goddess I may give it a go, I was considering doing a Stolly after I've finished the Landies, you never know I may do both I reckon I should be abl to model a lot faster now that I've got an idea of what I'm doing  :D

What's wrong with the Hives though? I don't like slipknot, and Blink and Sum41 bring back unpleasant memories of freshman year....I hate going to a school with a good football team.
Cross country- that's a real sport.

It's a commonly known fact that 75% of the US population supports a war against Saddam Hussein.
90% supports a war on Chirac and all those damn snail-eating frenchies.

@ UK Ska:

The Offspring peaked with their first album and have gone rapidly downhill from that point onwards. They're still better than Limp Bizkit tho... even BRITNEY is better than Limp Bizkit!!

Pearl Jam, QOTSA, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, LTJ and Sonic Youth forever!!

Right I've decided I'm gonna sort out the detail LODs tonight, I'm gonna finish work early today (got nowt to do and I'm the only one in my team here at the moment  ;)) and I'm gonna hack at the model until I've got a full set of detail LODs and and internal view  :D then that'll just leave the internal textures and the bells and whistles such as lights n stuff, oh and I've gotta make the steering wheel turn, 5min job though hopefully  ;)
One thing I've noticed though is, now that I've got a geometry LOD I can no longer walk through it but I can still drive through things and shoot through it, are these both covered by the fire geometry lod?

Title: Re:Landrover 110
Post by: DeLiltMon on 03 Nov 2002, 12:58:25
Progress is being made, I've got a steering wheel that rotates properly now, I've been working on the internal textures. I had to draw the instument panel myself which took ages to get right but it's getting there, I've used a photo (taken by woofer's mate) for the dashboard and I've had to try and match the colors for the bits the photo doesn't cover, gonna have another crack at it today so I'll post some new pics later on. In the mean time have a look at these: (I think I'm going to have to make the instrument panel background darker)
Title: Re:Landrover 110
Post by: DeLiltMon on 03 Nov 2002, 13:02:37
Note: the steering wheel is a temporary texture until I make a proper one complete with Land Rover in the middle, somewhere along the line it seems to have picked up the texture for the Invasion1944 teams Kubelwagen wheel instead of the jeep one I was using, thought I'd point that out before someone accuses me of stealing textures  ;)

I was off work sick yesterday (and today too) and after about 5mins of daytime tv (does anyone else get the urge to climb a clock tower with a high powered rifle when they see Kilroy?) I decided to get stuck into the landy, it's now got a full set of textured LODs and it holds 8, it's a bit cramped but they're in  ;), I can now see the steering wheel through the windows thanks to DeadMeat    so that just leaves the lights, speedo needle and the config.cpp to sort out, oh and I've gotta knock up a texture with pedals on for the drivers footwell.

Title: Re:Landrover 110
Post by: DeLiltMon on 07 Nov 2002, 13:08:28
The brakelights were working with the old names it was just the beams that were wrong.
Did a bit of tinkering with the config last night and I've noticed one thing it seems a bit on the quick side getting to it's top speed of 90mph (going by the speeds given by woofer - 90 on road, 50 on a track and 30 off road, that's absolute balls-out maximum suicidal top speed mind)
Is there a way to change how quick it accelerates and how fast it goes on different surfaces? At the moment it's flying up to 90, doing about 60 on dirt tracks and about 40-45 off road, until I hit a tree cos I'm watching the speedo that is  ;)

I work for EDS in Swansea, offficially what I do is "Enterprise Management" which means we set up software on servers to monitor them and send out alerts when they start to struggle of fall over. We also maintain the system the helpdesk use. I may be off to Bristol cos we've lost the DVLA contract and my job will be transfering over to Fujitsu with the contract. Unfortunately Fujitsu's Enterpridse Management team are based in Stevenage, oso after about 6 months in Swansea setting up the systems after the transfer I'd have to move up to Stevenage, which I don't particularly want to do, so I've got to find another job and at the moment there was only one available, mainframe cobol programing in Bristol which I'm still waiting to hear whether or not they want me to go and when I start.

Anway, back on topic, I'm gonna bugger about with the config file today and see if I can make it less Jeep-like and more Landrover-like.

Hi liltmon. So far so good.. I have only pissed about for about 5 minutes and am very very impressed!
Do you plan to make the land rover's tires burst? other than just crumpling the whole chassis?  (maybe its just me :P)

also a few cosmetics such as the steering wheel could do with rounding off a little bit. Although you have the general shape down to a fine art! Well done!
The vehicle behaves well too and steers nicely. The accelerarion behaves a bit different to the standard jeeps which is great too.
More info as I have it
cheers again!

Anyway I dont know if ya read your pms but here is a bit of what I think so far.

1- it drives a bit to fast but that is not a serious issue.
2- the more serious issue i think is the rear interior texturing of the floor and seats a bit to plain.
3- steering wheel which yo uhave already mentioned but i thought i'd remind you.
4- a plastic transplant for you.  ;D

Excellent work Lilty! I can't find (m)any faults with the beta ;)

That is, except:

-The thing goes like poo off a shovel, but this isn't anything major... I just drive the thing with the 'Q' key
-It feels a bit jeep-like, not hefty enough, but then again I've never driven a Landy or a M151 MUTT in my life, so who am I to say how it drives?
-There's no option to waft farts sat in the back  ;D

Apart from that, I'm well impressed mate!

BTW, does anyone have the problem i have with wheeled vehicles? Since 1.85 (or maybe it could have been 1.75) when I push a truck/jeep/car to its balls-out top speed, it refuses to turn more than about 5 degrees, so i have to slam on and swerve, but by then i've lost my momentum and spend a second or two wheel-spinning with 7.62 short clanging around the cab. It really makes it hard to go at top speeds down roads, cause any slight bends make me either have to stop and take it like my mum would in our 1 litre fiesta, or cream into a tree like i would in our 1 litre fiesta  :-\

Any suggestions, or do i have to strap dynamite to my belt again and jump through a window at BIS?
Title: Re:Landrover 110

Thanks for the feedback guys, sorry I've been so long in replying but I've been running round like a blue arsed fly - I found out Thursday that I'm starting in Bristol Monday (tomorrow), I'm gonna be in Blackpool for 4 days the week after and after that I don't know what's going on  :( but it looks like I'm gonna miss the next training session :( shame I was looking forward to a bit of mindless destruction  ;D, but you never know the next one I make I may be on broadband for :) and if it looks like I'm gonna be living in a hotel for a while (just like Alan Partridge ;)) then I think I may have to look into getting myself a laptop cos I don't think I can put up with not having net acccess or Fladshpoint for that long.
Anyway, I know what you mean about it being jeep-like, the config needes a bit of messing with, at the moment it's essentially a heavier, faster jeep that accellerates way too fast for a diesel  ;)
Funnily enough I didn't think of driving a tank over it, can't think why I tried just about every othrer bit of weaponry on it.
I'll see what I can do about the bugs you've found and sort out that bloody steering heel cos I think it looks terrible at the moment.
Anyway a question for you guys, do you think I should make the beta ver generally available since I'm not gonna have much chance to look at it for at least 2 weeks, apart from at the weekend ???

What do you mean you can't make practice!? I didn't leave my left leg and my right lung in Arnhem just so British people could turn into cappucino-swilling Europeans, working on their inter-web computer-screens in bloody hotels and drinking lukewarn Heineken from a wine glass or whatever those European weirdos do... back in my day if you saw someone drinking German beer you shot him and nicked his watch, then split his country in half with the Commies...

*Kooky uses a crowbar to get his grandfather off the keyboard*

Phew. Sorry about that, the old git got out of the institution again  ::) Don't worry Lilty, if you get bored and want to indulge in mindless violence, a doorknob in a sock is almost as fun as a bayonet  ;)

Hmmm not much of that going on in Brizol, just lots of zider drinking OOAAARRRRR! ;)
I just hope that I've only got the one trip to Blackpool cos then I can get on with finding somewhere to live and getting a 1meg line from Telewest  ;D

Cool, I'm with Telewest. Good service and everything. The tech didn't even drink that much tea, and told me a lot of cool things about computers, the internet, how to find out if your old man's been looking at porn even if he's wiped the temp internet folder, and his tour of Bosnia when he was in the army, and the time his mate pissed on the eternal flame and almost got them shot up by the locals  ;D

OFF TOPIC:

heh there's a telewest thing going on.. I'm with them. May end up in your clan too (Royal sardines? ;) )

Our tech was good too. He drank NO tea and even helped me lug my hefty music equipment to the other room so's I wouldn't smash the doorframes ;D
Also next time you are on radio Alan, could you mention me? ;)

Cider!!!! that stuff sends me loopy! Hows the guinness up there? Pretty shit here recently and overpriced! - you lucky devil liltmon!

Also you can really track down the porn? haha! thats a good one! I am gagging to find out so I can catch my brother! I swear he's cracking 'em off left right and centre!
My girlfriends also intrigued to find out what he's been looking
at :D Bless him.

Ok later on.

Not much progress I'm afraid, been up in Blackpool all week and I'm up there next week too, it's bloody dull and there's no net access  :(
I'm hoping to be able to mess around with the config today before I go back to Bristol, that new tutorial on configs should help  ;)
After next week I'll be looking for somewhere tolive in Bristol so hopefully I'll soon be able to get back to working on the landy properly.
In the mean time here's the link to the Beta version so you can have something to be going on with:

You haven't been in ma astra...

email notifications sulking so didn't know a page had been added >:(

Back too the LR - Only ever driven MkIII's that were knackered - but you can get them to accellerate like a 1.2l petrol and keep going (LR + Trailer @ 90mph anyone?)

Wolfs are cool - Turbo whistling at you as you cut up another johnny-boy who thinks spoilers and 5 point harness's make a Nova go faster...

Lol, I remember getting knocked off me bike by some prat in a Nova. The crappy music and farting exhaust hurt me more than the fall though, so I got back on and went like a man possessed until he got stopped at the traffic lights. I just pulled up and tapped on his window with my bike pump and politely asked him to step out of the car.

The moral of this story:

Even an angry cyclist with blue hair is faster than a Nova with five-point harnesses and a spoiler  ;D

Better than Eatsenders this...

Any chance the headlights could point more at the road than the sky?

Yes I will be doing an open version and an armed version, although I want to get this version sorted out first before doing variations on it, so it might not be until after Xmas since I can only work on it at the weekends at the moment  :(

Better than Deadenders? That's not hard really - Mitchell, burn me car! ;D For this week's installment, it looks like I won't have to go back up to Blackpool for a while, which is good cos it's bloody cold up there and everything is shut  :(
Next week and probably up until Xmas I'll be staying in a B&B in Bristol. After that then I'll have to find me on place, probably rented cos I don't intend staying in Bristol a second longer than I have too - me new job is increadably dull, I've got to learn Cobol and I really don't want to be a programmer again, I much prefer the hardware and network side like I was doing in Swansea - I miss taking things apart :(
I had a laugh look at the prices of laptops Thursday night when I got back to Bristol and does anyone else thing the £1500+ for one with nVidia graphics is taking the piss?  >:(

What's happened to the RSF site BTW?  ???

Had to reinstall ofp ass the 1.90 patch on codemasters was for the goty edition game. theus the bugger wrecked the cfgs of vehicles, deleted the campaign missions and other general weirdness. Reinstalled the whole of ofp, lost most addons ( :-\ me brother purged the 2nd HD....) and had to start again.
As for joining the rsf mate???? I dont know where your bloody server is :P
come find me on SHOP some time in the evenings i'm under the handle BeeR. (surprise huh?)
I'm currently considering re-training a new trade as there is no motorcycle work near to me and am facing a very shitty Christmas. Hope reality's treating you lot better.

*machine coughs blue smoke and bursts into flames*

Stupid iMac! WORK!

*thunk*

"Rolling on the floor laughing my ass off, yay yay I seem to be in possession of incredible skills in relation to this video game mister Kooky sir!"

Our unit is dedicated to the latest tactical advances in modern war... we have:

"So cunning you could stick a tail on it and call it a weasel" Division, headed by resident Baldrick-alike Vade

Necrophillia Division, headed by Supafly

High-On-Lemon-Jif Divison, headed by Deadmeat

Hammering Division, headed by Lilty

Bass and Hatherley Divison, headed by me.

So as you can see, we can do all the things the Americans forget when we (READ: They) go and bomb the sh*t out of some stone-age country. Dead gets bombed off cleaning products, Supa gets busy with the bodies, Lilty uses his undo-hammer to sort out the hospitals and red cross buildings that get totalled, Vade is cunning and smelly at the same time, and I make sure Ms. Hatherley is... comfortable when she visits the troops...

We just need a Lead-Based Killery Division now, we don't go in for that fighting lark too much.

And the 30mm Ammo ready rack is good for bottles...

Just think how many bottles of cheap cider you could get in a Warrior... Piccie for reference.

How about a Warrior to follow up the Landy DLM?

I'd much rather see the Scorpion family (Scimitar, Striker, Sabre, Sultan, Samaritan, Samson, Spartan, Shielder, Stormer etc.) than the Warrior, even though the Warrior is a nice bit of IFV.
Title: Re:Landrover 110

Could see a use for Schimitar (Recce), Striker (AT), Samaritan (Ambulance). Open season on Woofer - please correct me if I'm wrong.

The reason I push for a Warrior is 30mm Cannon with 7.62mm Coax (As per Schimitar), no AT capacity but you can lever 7 good friends in the boot...

FV432's and saxon's are still around, but they aren't as sexy...

Arrgghhh so many question, I'll get round to answering them all later when I've got 5mins spare, but first off I managed to stay off the net and away from the Nam pack over the weekend (but not away from the pub) so on Sunday with a mf of a hangover I did some more on the landy, I've sorted out the rear texture where it was showing white and reworked the geometry and fire geometry LODs although I still can't shoot the guys inside through the open window  :-\, it'd be much appreciated if someone could suggest a solution this.
I've reworked the steering wheel texture but Texview won't open it, I just get an empty box and I can't remember what I did last time to solve it ???
The file can be found at:
http://mysite.freeserve.com/deliltmon/DLMLR110GS_BETA.zip
P.S. the config is unchanged and I've got a funny feeling that the mass applied in the geometry LOD is the same as a Jeep (not 3050kg as it should be) cos I think I forgot to change it  :(

Me mad? Haircut sir? Haircut sir? How about you Cleopatra? Who let them walnuts in here? And they're walking! They're walking walnuts! I can smell radiators!
Time scales  :-\ at the moment I can only work on it at the weekends and then in between doing other things, like getting drunk  :D so I can't really give an estimate, other than to say I'm off work for 2wks over christmas so I should be able to get a fair bit done then.
As for versions, I'm planning on doing 110 Soft Top (one I'm doing now), Hard Top, Open, 110 Pinkie (SAS one), 90 Soft Top, Hard Top, Open and a 130 Ambulance, 90 & 110 Wolf (TUL & TUM?) as for a 6x6 version (I think their Aussie only, known as Perenties?) I reckon I could do the model for you if you can dig up some reference pics, you'll have to do the textures though, not my forté I'm afraid, but since you'll be retexturing the normal landies into that wonderful Aussie camo pattern it shouldn't be a problem - it'd be nice to have some Aussie units running around alongside some Brit units :D and a Les Hiddings unit  ;) (it may look like shit, but it's good tucker ;D)
As for the open Landie with MG is this what you mean?
http://www.army-technology.com/contractors/vehicles/landrover/landrover3.html - The Rapid Deployment Vehicle, in which case then yes I'll be doing it, gotta work out how to add weapons first though.
I'm also hoping to be able to do different  paint schemes too, plain green, green and black camo, desert and UN.

As for what's next, I got a hankering for a Stolly but I suppose it all depends on how long it takes to finish the Landies, although I would have though/hope the remodelling for the different versions wouldn't take too long cos most of it should stay the same, frontend, dash seats, etc.
My fingers are knackered now after so much typing and my brain hurts from thinkins so much.

There's nowt much cooler than a Landy covered in guns. Unless it's black. And has a bass guitar on the passenger seat. And has QOTSA blaring out of the radio.  ;D

Cheers lads, just got the rear platform to do and the guns to put on then it'll be winging it's way to Aus for painting, oh and I supppose I'd better hack stuff off it for the detail LODs  ;)
After that I think I'll do the 90 model (easy one that  ;) ) the Wolf (TUL & TUM), open versions there of, a pinkie - hopefully I'll be able to use a fair chunk of the Perentie for that  :D and I suppose we're gonna need a bone wagon to pick up all these Brits that are charging off to war in the Landies  ;)
Then that'll just leave the textures  :( - doing the Perentie has reminded me how much easier modeling is compared to texturing and I've come to the conclusion I hate texturing. Still if I can get the models done before I go back to work then vast majority will be done and a lot of the textures should be common to all versions (I hope anyway)

Must be a xmas thing - 4 days before crimbo my 'main' HD went down on me (kinky). GF thought I was getting emotional about the presents we were giving each other...

Ahem. Puts on gloves...

The 'new' Landrovers look spanking from the outside. Fabulous. Had great fun driving the 90 through a forestry block with only the odd dint (Well sir, I was going to point out what the MT had done to it before I signed for it)

You've allready talked about the fibbing speedo (a memorial for good old British workmanship) and the textures in the cab. Unfortunately I am not up to actually helping with anything, so I'll stop there.

Can't wait for big, nasty, powerful Mr Wolf... :joystick:

Actually a bit late, but a big Chrisimas thank you to all you nice addon makers who make wonderful things in your own time, only for us skilless morons to moan and nitpick at...

Cool work m8  ;)
But 1 question about the 6 wheeled landy with a mounted machinegun is it now that it will be released with the ADF Mod so we can't see a beta of that baby I know you told you was not good with adding a machinegun but when ADF got the machinegun working on the landy why can't we see the 6 wheeled version ???
Title: Re:Landrover 110
Post by: Wires on 31 Dec 2002, 05:45:35
You will see the 6x6 asap as it's a VERY nice vehicle so the ADF Mod wants to get it going and released. I have already started adding an M2 to the top and will most likly be makeing 2 version one with working M2 and dummy MAG58 and one with no M2 and working MAG58. This will go very nicely with the ADF_SF pack which includes SAS, CDO, TAG-E and snipers  ;)

An early HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone as it's only a few hours away and almost time to break out the serious grog  ;D have a good one

Congrats Lilty  ;)

I was just wondering, is it possible to make a steerable chute rig? One that opens when you eject from a transport aircraft when you hit a certain alt, and then lets you steer it while it falls. It'd help in MP where parachute insertions lead to fifteen minutes of running around getting shot at by beady-eyed commies while you look for your team, only to find them hanging in trees.

Slightly off topic: found scale drawings for a Warrior on a Russian site (?), which could makes it more likely for me to descend into the insanity of addon crafting. Is there a demand for a Brit AFV with a troop capacity, 30mm cannon and 7.62 coax?

Oops....  :-[
Is is going to be a BAS release or a DeadMeat private venture?
Got a couple more models done:
The Wolf XD90 and open top versions of the 90 and 110, so that just leaves the models for the open Wolf (see pic above) with a Gimpy and M2, armed open 110s and 90s (again with a gimpy) the Gulf War pinkie (again M2 and gimpy - I think anyway) and the 127 Ambulance and XD130 Ambulance then that'll just leave the textures for all of the above  :( (oh how I love texturing).
And while we're on the subject of arming vehicles, does anyone know of any tutorials on how to do it? And does the MG on a vehicle have to be pintle mounted like on the BIS Jeep with MG or is it possible to have a ring mount (something like on the M113 but without the armour surround) cos the armed Wolf has a ring mounted M2 on the back (see pic below)

If you need any help with weapons on your Landys DeLiltMon I'd be glad to help out  ;) , you can have a ring mount m2 or gimpy I have one on the LRPV already  :)

Speaking of which it is coming along quite well just fixing up the placement of the MAG58 and cleaning up the M2 mount. Then it's all to be textured.

Title: Re:Landrover 110

Adding a ring mount is pretty easy really, all you need to do is grab the M113 turret and gun and all the corresponding memory points. Paste them on your model and position as necessary. Then all I did was squash the armour around the ring mount to make it look right and moved the gun and proxy around until the guy fitted in. If you want a tripod type mount do a similar thing with the M2 tripod mount. It's all about the memory points and selections. Look at the config for the JeepMG and there's the code for the gunner positionm as well.

I could send you the LRPV as an example if you like DeLiltMon  ;) least I could for you seeing as it's mostly your model.

Arse I forgot the M113 was in the demo! Doh!  :(
I wouldn't mind a look at the LRPV, my copy looks a bit bare with an empty pintle mount on the back  ;)
Who created the MAG58/GPMG/FN MAG model that I stuck on the front? I'd like to use it on the landies

It's only the Aussies that use the LRPV it's specially made by Land Rover Australia the British SAS use this:

Apparently the SAS are not using the Wolf as yet, all but one of the 110's made for the Gulf are still in service.

Started work on the armed Wolf, got a bit more work to do on the roll cage and the mount for the Gimpy on the front needs remodeling as I just cut the front end off the LRPV and spliced it with the back end of the open 110 so I supose what your looking at is a cut and shut - DeLiltMon's Dodgy Motors open for business ;)
The .50 works thanks to Wires for reminding me that the M113 model came with the demo and I need to find out who made the Gimpy model so I can ask for permission to use it.

You have to open up the right hand side rear door (All wolfs are at least 3 point exit)

And it may be an idea to open up the back ramp too ;)

Hmmmm, I don't suppose you've got any pics showing the side opening? All the pics I've found look like the rear body is the same as the soft and hard top Wolf  :-\ I'll definately open the tailgate though.

And Kooky yes I will be doing the Gulf period 110 pinkie - I saved a copy of the model just after I opened up the side doors, I was thinking of doing a version with a working pintle mounted .50 and a dummy Gimpy and one with a dummy .50 and a working front mounted Gimpy and maybe one with a Mk19 Grenade Launcher

Nice solution to the limited field of fire offered by the rear mount, I think I've seen some pics of LRPV's in Afghanistan with a .50 mounted there but there were in the background of the pics so I couldn't pick out any detail.

I don't know if this has been asked before, but are you planning on creating a SAS Landrover pack, with customised 110s?
Title: Re:Landrover 110
Post by: DeLiltMon on 08 Jan 2003, 11:05:52
It has been asked before and yes I will be doing them, they'll be the Gulf War style ones, I've already saved a copy of the armed Wolf model prior to adding all the details (at the moment it just looks like a 110 with the doors removed and no windscreen) I'll probably do 3 versions, one with a dummy GPMG on the front and a working .50 on the back,  another one with a working GPMG on the front and a dummy .50 and one with a dummy GPMG and a working Mk19 Grenade Launcher on the back. Should be a nice combination qworking together on a patrol  ;)
Since the OPF engine doesn't allow missiles on vehicles I can't do one armed with a Milan.
Title: Re:Landrover 110
Post by: screamingeagle_101 on 08 Jan 2003, 12:56:53
Can't you get the two weapons to work together?
If you can't instead of having a dummy 50., how about a double GPMG turret in its place.

Also I've seen a Humvee addon with a TOW AT launcher on it. There must be a way around it.
Anyway I look forward to it.
Title: Re:Landrover 110
Post by: DeLiltMon on 08 Jan 2003, 15:23:31
The OPF engine only allows one weapon on a vehicle as for a twin GPMG turret they didn't have them, they had a pintle mounted .50 on the back and a GPMG mounted on the front,, have a look at the pics here http://www.neatstuffmodels.com/landrover.html they're models but they show the layout pretty well - I don't think the GPMG mount is quite right though  :-\ It also show the Warminster, which is what I want my open 110s and 90s to be like.
Since they don't operate on their own, usually in groups of 3-4 (from memory) if you use a combination of dummy front and rear gun vehicles then you should be able to cover all angles e.g a Live GPMG vehicle at the front and a live .50 vehicle at the back with a Mk19 armed vehicle in the middle.

I think that Humvee might be using a bullet with it's properties changed so it has the same explosive charecteristics as a TOW round.

Well thought out. Are you going to add anything else to increase the capability of them. Example, more armor improved menouverability (not sure on the spelling), harder to hit the crew.

One of the problems I find with cars with weapons, is whenever you do an SAS vehicle style attack on a enemy base you get very quickly, the enemy just lie down a shoot you. The gunners are also a problem, you'd want them to spray MG fire all over the enemy, but they hardly fire a few rounds before they get killed.

Also the drivers of the jeeps always slow down whenever they come to an enemy, "eh, excuse me have you seen any soldiers dressed in Soviet military attire carrying AK74s?"

Apart from having a V8 petrol engine the SAS 110 differs very little from a standard 110 mechanically (the standard service 110 has a 2.5l NA Diesel), so it'll perform very similarly to the standard 110 apart from being a bit quicker (not that much with the weight of all the extra equipment) they're not armoured and the crew is very exposed their main asset is speed and surprise.
The problems you mentioned with attacks are due to the AI, I find it's difficult to organise a convoy of more than 2 vehicles under AI control - I tried to take all the landies (all 8 versions) on a tour round Nogova and found that even though they were all parked neatly at the side of the road the AI soon managed to get them facing at all angles in a big mess in the middles of the road and they just sat there watching the one in the middle reverse back and for hitting the others trying to get out, in the end I had to sort it out myself. Personally I think armed vehicles are more useful in multiplayer where the driver will actually drive fast and run over enemy troops if they get in the way.

I wasn't going to do it as part of this lot because it would be a completely new model, but I am planning a 127/130 ambulance and possibly a XD130 ambulance.

Got some pics of the Wolf Rapid Deployment Vehicle, big thanks to Vade_101 for these(especially the first one which has a top down view!):

Some bit's will be untextured because I haven't done them yet, I decided to put them up because it could be a while before I get time to do the textures.

Speaking of time, I've just come back from house hunting in Bristol, and I've found somewhere! With a bit of luck I could be moving in next Monday  ;D so hopefully soon I'll be back on track to finishing these beasties  ;)

Mmm, that Perentie looks better every time I see it! I can see that brute getting poached for RSF service  ;)

Damn right you can have a trial! At the mo we just run games off cplme's (Supafly's) PC, but he's sorting a server out for us. Sorry we didn' sort this earlier mate  :-\ Any addons you need we can transfer with MSN, so no worries. Next time your on MSN we can discuss which squadron (Mobility/Boat, Air or Infantry) you want to join... basically, if you join Mob Sqn you raz around on bikes, Landies and get to play with boats (and get to experience my own speacial brand of leadership  ;)), if you go to Air you get to play around with helicopters with Deadmeat and Supafly, and if you pick Inf you can do parachute jumps and get all muddy with Lilty...  ;)

Just been going through some of the old posts and came accross this:
I beleive it to be a Pinzgauer (http://www.pinzgauer.uk.com/)
whatever this is - i reckon its really needed for any kinda Kabul Patrol Missions as the para's used it a hell of alot.

It may be a Pinzgauer (Army designation Truck Utility Medium or TUM) as I've only heard of the SAS using the Merc Unigmog, and that was A Sqn in the Gulf. They had one as a command vehicle I think in the 110 column that they attack Victor Two with.

*stops scratching chin*

Went on the site, the ones with the Gympis and five-ohs look cool and would probably be good as support for Lilty's 110s, bringing in troopers, but I'm sure I could weld a few more pintle mounts on that bugger, maybe a 51mm mortar, a couple of Mk 19s, and a Milan tube too  ;D

Plenty of news, since joining the UK Forces mod I've been doing alot of detail work on the landy - the 110GS model poly count has gone up by approx 1000 faces, not much to see at the moment as it's still got the same textures on it, which are next on my list of improvements.
So far I've added/reworked the following parts:
Bonnet, bumpers, chassis, axels, wheels, rear view mirror, wipers, dashboard, steering wheel, exhaust pipe, lights, tow hook, tilt sticks and possibly more that I cant remember.

P.S.
The landrovers now have their own page on the Uk Forces site (http://www.concept-5.com/ukforces/)

Good work Lilty! I look forward to using the Pinkies to spread red hot justice in the shape of .50 rounds at those damned commies... even though I'm technically one myself  ::)

OFF-TOPIC:

How's about telling us your speciality for the RSF site? I need an excuse to add some more general crappery to it  ;D
Title: Re:Landrover 110
Post by: DeLiltMon on 28 Jan 2003, 11:38:04
There's nothing like a bit of .50cal justice  ;)
The pinkie is on it's way, just got to finish the 110GS base model improvements before chopping and changing it to make the long list of variants, the modeling is done, I've just got the textures to do now ;)

As for the RSF, how about drivin, killin,' and blowin sheeit up?  :D
Weapon: GPMG
Thinking of it when the next training sesh, I think it's about time I played OPF properly rather than just using it to look at and destroy landrovers  ;)
If I leave it any longer I'll loose my thousand yard stare ;D

*Edit*
Got a new statement too been as I now command troops:
"CHAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGE!!! OW OW OW OW, MEDIC!!!"

Title: Re:Landrover 110
Post by: DeLiltMon on 31 Jan 2003, 14:24:36
That's probably due to it having the fuel capacity of the BIS jeep and it weighing 3 times as much, I've got a list of specs somewhere that gives the actual fuel capacity and the range, although i don't think you can actually change the fuel consumption  :-\

As for next week I'll be there, gonna have to edit my player profile so I can have the face with the handel-bar moustache been as I now a Captain, ey what  ;)

When I saw the motorcycle with the side view mirror, at first I thought that actual reflective mirrors were possible in OFP--is this not possible?

While examining the demo version's T72 model, I saw a group named "zrcadlit", and I see in a reference to Czech-English vocabulary that it's defined as "reflect, mirror".

I put a box in my model, gave it a selection named zrcadlit, but it was not a mirror ....

Is a true mirror possible? I don't recall ever seeing one .....

Hmmm not sure what it's got to do with Landrovers, but as far as I'm aware no you can't have a working reflective mirror in OPF, none of the BIS models have them, they are all just textures.
