Title: Setting positions and directions
Post by: seafire6 on 05 Mar 2003, 06:45:43
I've scoured the site for info on setting individual postions and directions (ie 2 different 50cal positions looking in opposite directions) but I haven't found anything that I can get to work. I've tried Player setPos and the player setDir commands. The direction command appears to work when away from any other commands. Any suggestions? I hope I'm just missing something simple.

in the mission editor, did you make sure special reads none and not In Formation?

Hey Seafire6, you shouldn't have any problems with this if the two M2s aren't grouped together...

However, if they are, one will always point the same direction as the other is depending on rank or who got grouped to who, I certainly haven't found a way to stop it... It drove me mad for ages trying to figure it out... In the end I just accepted it... If you want them to look in different directions don't group 'em, if you wanna save on the groups per side count do it... ::)

Oh, just thought of something... If you are moving guys into the M2s as Gunner, then make sure the guys are facing in the direction the M2s are meant to be...  :) Otherwise the guys turn to face the direction they were before they "moved in"... Above still applies though...  :(

The command doWatch (is that right?) might do the trick.
