Just a Q for u oldies ;D:

Ok, IÂ've heard somethin quite a lot times now that youÂ've rechanged thw whole forum or somethin like that a while ago. When did this happened? Could be fun to know.

There was a complete overhaul of the site in July/August 2002.      My understanding is that it was made necessary by the massive popularity of the site.    We had to get new servers, more robust coding - basically start from scratch.   The site was taking too many hits/hour to be "just a bit of fun".

The refit took much longer than everyone expected but in the long run was a huge success - look at the Editors Depot for example.    When I started to learn mission editing there were only a handful of tutorials, now we host 150.

The biggest change as far as the forum was concerned (apart from basically having a new forum, obviously  ;D) was that in the old forum the number of your posts was displayed and you got more stars the more you posted.    This was not altogether a good thing so it didn't happen in the new forum.

July/August, eh? Then I arrived when the new site was only 1-2 monthes old ;D.

Hehe, Macguba, u had to learn from tutes online when ur kind computer magazine give ya the basics direct on yer own language. ;D

Anyway, topic solved and locked.
