Is there a sniper unit anywhere with a new ghillie suit? The one that came with the game leaves alot of areas uncovered. It would be nice to see one with really good coverage.

It is true there are a lot of great snipers weapons, marksmen, countersnipers, and tactical sharpshooters avialable... However, what Homefry asked for was a decent ghillie-suited sniper in the style of the USMC scout/snipers, and the USA sniper. There were two addons released quite a while ago that were decent Ghillie-suit models, and I enjoyed using them quite a bit. But both had the muzzel flash bug, LOD texture issues, and their weapons were based on the BIS standards. I've asked around to BAS, TOW, and now Suchey regarding a new Ghillie-suited sniper, and haven't gotten any reals response. It would seem tht this is not a priority for addon makers...?

can you yell me where you got them? Do the LOD textures refer to the gun? I will probably get a sniper rifle and just add it in the init field.

I didn't like those guys. All they were was the regular man with bigger body and a hood with new textures. But at least they tried and besides that was before o2 was realesed. I guess I could try and make one but it would be awhile to cause I dont know how to model humans yet.

I have been trying to create a realistic ghillie suit for some time but it is very difficult to get it looking right without going way off the deep end with polys. The problem for me really is the way OFP animates the soldiers and it has bad effects on the ghillie suit when in different positions. Anyway my work continues I just hope someone comes up with a good one too 'cause it's been a real pain in the butt especially when I am doing a number of other addons at the same time  :-\

About those Ghille Suits you said you had once, I've got them ;)

Yea, they are very good, just that muzzel thing is annying, but I like the Spotters texture.

PS: About that old "spotter" addon, I never got that to work, where can I get them? I'm a bit more experienced now so I'd probably know what to do.
