Title: [off topic] USB exteral Hard Drives

Sorry for the off topic...

But i'm looking into USB 2.0 external hard drives. and have a few considerations.

1) Can you boot from a USB external HDD?
2) Is the transfer rate fast enough to do high intensity data transfers? like loading/saving huge files?
