Just came across this site while searching for some 3d models for use at work: http://www.3dcafe.com/asp/military.asp
is this useful to any addon makes?

Let me answer that to you.
1) It's not original, it's more some lazy import.
2) It isn't fun, people model NEW things because it's fun to do.
3) Around 99,99% of the modelers knows this page.
But then again, do whatever you think that's right...

1) fk originality ;)
2) Personally, I'd take a fully functional in-game addon than make one myself any day
3) Not true
More importantly however:
4) Those models are often waaay too high poly for OFP. You'd have to spend a lot of time reducing the polycount instead of getting it to work in-game. Thus, it would be easier and faster to model your own.

I agree with Ktotte! ;)
And I've actually checked this site out awhile ago(found out about it from Kaliyuga) and all the 3d models we looked at weren't there! The downloads are empty!
Oh well, could just be me, thought that info might help though...
But yeah, thanks for the heads up aetchell! Can't hurt to bring up cool stuff like this!

There is other stuff at the site too. I found a link from there with alot of cool fonts, things like Graffitti fonts which can be used for texturing. There are also a few useful wall textures available.

1- all the models are ugly and do not look the real thing they try to represent.
2- thats why ppl make their addons
cheers

turbosquid has a couple of decent a/c models at the moment
better than 3d cafe.
If you have max 5 you already know this.:D
turbo squid is a good thing.

im hunting an MT-LB ...if u have one GIVE IT TO ME !!!!!

1st thing is that on 3d cafe, you will need to download the .exe files..
when u run one of those, you will get extracted a 3d file on your desktop..
2nd thing - to use those models are NOT for the lazy one..lol..
-you will need to convert to the right kind of model and import to O2.
-you will need to make selections, and need to know exactly WHAT the selections must be called, you must build a Memory LOD, and stuff like that...
thats why i dont understand those who does import finished stuff - the funny thing is to make the model... NOT to make the selections or the config... :-\
