Here's an image of my progress on making the 1st person LOD for the AN-94 Abakan (Russia's new 5.45x39mm weapon).

The area around the rear sight is messy, I struggled to build that section, but now that it's blocked in, I can see how I should have started modeling, so I'll go back and recreate it.

A few questions - what sort of polygon counts are appropriate for the different weapon LODs?

The Abakan has a unique firing mechanism.  It has the option for:

- single shot
- 2 round burst @ 1800rpm with no recoil until after 2nd shot
- Full auto.  It starts with the 2 round burst @ 1800rpm with delayed recoil, then cycles down to 600rpm for the rest of the burst.

Will it be possible to model those properties in the config file?

I actually made an Abakan way back using the AK model. The 1800 2 shot at the start of a burst is not possible (at least that's what I gather from many questions and attemts). That is a pretty good model though and the AN-94 is a good weapon, I'd like to see it in game with a new model. The 2 shot burst is very deadly and can be done in the cpp but not really with delayed recoil only reduced. A big multi-function sight would be cool, or at least just an optical one.

That's my AN-94 for Ghost Recon - It would certainly look good with the PO3,5x21P.  It will also get a GP-25.

I'm going to make the AK-104 carbine with the Cobra:

And I will probably also make an AK-74M, both an iron-sight version and one with the 1P29 4x scope.  I always wanted to model the 1P29.  It appears very ugly at first when you see it mounted, but I'm getting used to it.

As for config.cpp's I really just need to learn how to make them.  If you can teach me, maybe write one for the Abakan, and include lots of comments, I would appreciate it.

MAKE'EM 4 OFP! they look grrrreat! the akaban and the ak-104 with cobra look like they wil fook somebody up!. i got some great gp-25 reload, and shot sounds for you. i can whip up some other sounds for ya too. im really good at sound editing. im taking a colledge class on it. I am the Spetsgruppa Vympel mod team!  My friend did the uniform retexturing - I did everything else.
