Hi all,
I am part of a very small WWII tank sim modding team and we are exploring the possibilities of switching to the ArmA2 engine.
Is it possible in ArmA2 to change the tanks hull rotation speed?
A simple yes of no will do, an explanation would be perfect.

G'day Jeff,
You either mean Tank turn speed or Turret turn speed.
Turret turn speed;
maxHorizontalRotSpeed=0.10000;
maxVerticalRotSpeed=0.050000;
Tank turn speed;
Related to its top speed as I understand it.

Thank you for the reply Gnat,
I am referring to the tank turn speed (hull) so is it a percentage of it's top speed, if so any idea what percentage?
*update* I have just done a little test with three different tanks with three different top speeds, they all take about 6 seconds to spin on the spot. It looks like there top speed has little or no effect.
Can anyone shed some light on this?

AFAIK there is no way to affect the rate of turning on the spot for a tracked vehicle, not something that is changeable.......again AFAIk. :)

Saku Driver Mod (http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=1409915) increases the turning radius of vehicles so that the AI drive better, so I would imagine it could be limited on a tank. It could probably be done in relation to speed as well, because if you look at how aircraft turn, they only turn smoothly at a certain speed.
Also, in ArmA 1, there was tank realism mods like NWD_TankFCS (http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=1409915) and others. They just need to be ported over to ArmA II. So I think the potential is there.

The CASP (http://dev-heaven.net/projects/show/casp) team is working on the NWD tank FCS port. :D
