Title: Please help with OFP 1.96

I searched and searched endlessly for months and have found no solution. Please help, the problem is with OFP 1.96 the cockpit views are auto-centered and you can't look freely with joystick hat. Before, you could just hit the numberpad '*' key and unlock free-look.

This really makes it difficult for helicopter or fixed-wing aircraft flying. Please help, maybe you can go back to the 1.96 patch with a hex editor? (I don't know how to use that). Maybe some kind of .cfg setting? !?!?!?

Please , don't abandon OFP... remember your creation, it loves you... its crying for help, it wants to look freely from the cockpit of aircraft...

It works for me, are you sure you didn't bind the command to another key, look in the config menu.

Dear Ext3rmin4tor,

What are your system specs? I'm using a clean install of OFP GOTY 1.85 patched to 1.91 and then 1.96. My specs are: Windows XP SP3 (clean install) AMD X2 6000 Gigabyte Ga78ms2h HD4870 3 gigs of pc2 800 DDR ram Soundblaster Audigy 2zs Western Digital 500GB Saitek AV8R classic joystick (with twist, hat switch and dual throttles) and MS Intellimouse optical.

The funny thing is that even on my previous computer the 1.96 patch gave me the auto-center problem (and that was with a Logitech Wingman Force 3d stick).

Please help, any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks again.

hi,
there are another key that you can use in place of "*" for unlock head : the left ALT of your keyboard (you cant set another key and if i not wrong the key dont appear in keyboard setting from ofp options), it unlock head till you leave the button...
I discovered that "secret" key after years of gaming by pure hasard lol

Strange. The 1.96 patch for the GOTY should be a standalone patch. Did you try getting the one in the BIS site? Maybe it is an updater issue. Does the key work with the 1.85?

I got OFP 1.96 from Operationflashpointfilefront.com or somewhere like that. (I upgraded from 1.85 to 1.96!)

i will point that out again for others to see, as a soldier that moves your head with alt left then move mouse.
so Alt left hold down move hat!

but it might be worth looking at the driver update again on your joy stick or try to assign buttons to it! if its an ofp update post it, i am missing a patch too!
