Place the group.

Place a 'Move' waypoint for the group at the centre of the patrol area with diameter of 150-200 metres.

Place a 'Cycle' waypoint next to the 'Move' waypoint.

Preview and watch what they do.

In the waypoint there is a field called 'Placement Radius'  :)

the radius is 0 you can change that to 150 or what you like
or set the leader of the group in his init put
this setbehaviour "SAFE"; this setspeedmode "LIMITED"
then add waypoints of move ,,,,,, but ad a waypoint of cycle near the group...
man i hope i said that right bedges,, the stongbows are hitting me

I suggest you head over to the Editors Depot where there is a tutorial just for you (http://www.ofpec.com/ed_depot/beginners/waypoints.php). If you still have questions afterwards, don't worry: we're here to help.
