Title: Crimson Editor Syntax files (ACCEPTED)
Post by: Spooner on 01 Jul 2008, 13:11:33
If you use Crimson Editor (http://www.crimsoneditor.com) for editing your ArmA files, then this will sort out the syntax highlighting for .ext, .sqf, .sqs and .sqm. I use Crimson for editing everything, so it suits me to use it for ArmA editing too, because I am so used to using it. ArmAEdit might actually be a better choice if you don't edit using any syntaxes beyond ArmA/OFP.

The keywords recognised should cover everything in ArmA 1.14, but there is no reason why the highlighting wouldn't work fine with older versions (including OFP).

Get Syntax Highlighting - Crimson Editor v1.0.1 (http://www.ofpec.com/ed_depot/index.php?action=details&id=558)

I took the list of keywords from the full list of ArmA scripting commands (http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Category:Scripting_Commands_ArmA) at the BIKI.

They should therefore cover everything up to ArmA 1.14 or OFP (any version).

There have been syntax files for plenty of other editors about for an age...and ArmAEdit! Admittedly, I don't like any of those editors, which is why you finally get this. As you say, I stayed on my ass for a while, but that was mostly because I lost all the files when my HD burst and I took a while to get around to remake them for myself too ;P.

I was only quoting what you yourself said earlier about doing this. Now, how about a syntax file for vi?

(Oh yes, I had forgotten that I'd made that reference - still, I wasn't offended)

I don't use vi. It is just pointless eye-candy improvement over ed, the perfect editor.
