in response to this thread (http://www.ofpec.com/forum/index.php?topic=29976.0), we've added a wee module to allow members to list their skills for the purposes of aiding the recruitment process.
if you add your name but become unavailable at some point, simply edit your entry and uncheck the 'currently available' box, which will prevent the problem of folks trying to contact you when you're away. when you're available again, click the 'activate my entry' button to be listed once more.
we'll run this feature for the next month or so to see how much demand there is for it. any bugs or issues with the system, let us know. if anyone is still puzzled as to what we're talking about, it's the 'OFPEC: Experts For Hire' button on the right of the top menubar...
by the community, for the community :good:

It's like a brothel - but morally correct! This calls for a hurrah!
Hurrah!
-
shall we add a wee 'red light' next to members' names?
-
I vote yes :P
LCD OUT

I don't see it. Should I see it? Why don't I see it? Can we have a screenshot and a thick red circkle around the spot where it's supposed to be? :)

Here ya go lol

It sounds like a good idea, but I cannot see the button.. :dunno:
-
hrm. you may need to log out, refresh your cache and log back in, but otherwise i cannot see any reason why members wouldn't be able to see it...
-
Yeah, I did that all several times, but still not working. Well, good luck trying to get it fixed.
-
Yarr.. I can't see it either.. except in Jason's screenshot, thanks for that Jason.
-
since the appearance of the link is not related to member status, i can only assume that your broswer and/or av software is blocking it because it contains the word 'ads'.
-
Time to set ofpec as a safe site in your browser options my friends.
-
Of course, the age old problem/me slaps forehead with keyboard
Norton Antispam doing it's work. :good:
-
Uh, perhaps a renaming is in order then?
-
Renaming seems to be a good choice, as so many people have a blocked button..
-
i've changed the link text into ascii code, see if that fools the antispam-ware. let us know if there are still problems.
-
It didn't, but unchecking "block advertisements on this site" from Norton's IE plugin did. :)
-
It's probably the url itself causing it to be blocked.
-
Although the links and page heading are now "Experts for Hire", the html page title (<head><title>) still says "OFPEC Small Ads".
-
all fixed.
