Title: Creating a missile and locking it on target
Post by: Jus on 25 Oct 2002, 22:52:18
So, the problem is: how to create a missile and lock it on to a target? The problem is that when you have an aircraft flying low and fast, an AA soldier doesn't react fast enough to launch a missile, so I must use something else. A some kind of SAM script would be very useful...

There is such a script in the Ed Depot

http://www.ofpec.com/editors/snippet_view.php?id=31 (http://www.ofpec.com/editors/snippet_view.php?id=31)

The instructions include several types of missile. It doesn't actually 'lock' the missile onto the target, rather it seems to project the position of the target allowing for the velocity of the missile, then let fly - so it might be a little more difficult to hit a player with it, especially if they're dodging and jinking.

I haven't actually played with it, and it looks kinda complex to use right, but this seems to be what you're after.

Cheers.

Sorry for digging up a very old thread, but I'm also wondering the exact same thing and the link to the script on CareyBear's post seems to be out-dated. I didn't find anything when I searched the Editor's Depot myself either.

I also am surprised that the Mando Missile Suite (http://www.ofpec.com/forum/index.php?topic=26925.0) is not there.

I managed to find a link for you here (http://ofpc.de/wargames/files/misc/nonwgl/mandomisilsuite.zip) - it should include full instructions.

I doubt Mandoble did a version of Mando Missile Suite for OFP.

I can see the ArmA version in the ED though.
