Title: custom replies
Post by: dodgeman55 on 25 Jul 2006, 14:13:48
this hasn't got anything to do with the editor, but i couldnt find a section purely with questions about the game.

but out of curiosity,
In game, if you  press 0 you get the usual reply screen, but i noticed at the bottom of the list, "custom", which is faded.

does anyone have any idea what this does, or how i could activate it?

thanx

yeah,
as far as I remember this is where you can call a custom sound file.
Can't remember the size that is allowed or how to add it.
However, you can for example add a soundflie of you flushing your toilet.
Then when you press 0-x-x (can't remember) this sound will be played in OFP.
Also in MP, but keep in mind that some servers might kick oyu if your custom sound is over a certain size.
Or it wont work if it is to large.

(Like I said I can't remember exactly how it worked and what it was but I'm sure you can find it here on the site or at the BIS forum...)  ;)

Custom is the place where your custom radio messages appear..

For example, set up a trigger:   Activation Radio Alpha
In the Text field write something like custom radio command

Now try opening the custom menu, which has actually changed it's name to Radio

From that trigger you can then run scripts, custom sounds and so on, the trigger gets activated when you select the command from the radio (custom) menu..

Ouch that was my bad then.
I thought it was related to the custom sound you could define in your OFP.
I'm very sorry...been a while since I actually used my OFP.

Sniper Andy you were right and Hater you're wrong. Custom is '9' and the custom radio triggers are '10'.
