Title: Homeland islands

Hi all,

I've been trying to find a good winter island to set a campaign on (something different from retextured BIS ones), and I'm thinking of using Homeland island.

As it comes as 4 seperate islands, and the addons I using (LSR deltas) come in winter desert and woodland anyway, I could extend the campaign to cover more fronts.

However, my question is this. How many of you would be willing to download some 250MBs of an island, plus units, for a campaign? Also, how many people already have this island?

250MBs is a lot to download for some people, so would it be worth making the campaign?

since I have 56k I would never dl it unless it got a 999 out of 10 score

I never understood why anyone would make addons since it seems they are not 'allowed' to be used in missions/campaigns... ::)
You always see missions being dubbed as '"Mission: Thunderbolt" - a completely addon free mission!!!'..
Same goes for campaigns...

Regular BIS units and Islands are sooooooooooooooo old, every single square nanometer has been used 876 593 782 837 689 times already...
Only thing bugging about that particular island is that all the addons needed in it needs to be downloaded separately, which is just dumb...

Of course using 56k is understandable reason in this case as downloading tons of addons would take days :P

However, there are winter islands made by Instructor (http://members.surfeu.fi/instructor/) (I think they are smaller in size) the only drawback you might find is that they are strongly Finland influenced so that might not suite your needs... :P
All the islands do come in three different versions (no desert though)..

I probably would download this thing, all would depend on the storyline etc..
I just don't/wouldn't have the time to play it, that's all.. :(

Thanks for the help guys, I'm going to try to find a new island and take a look at Instructors ones. Maybe i'll change the story line so it doesn't have to be a snowy landscape.  ;)
