Title: Recommend an Island?

Hey everybody.

I'm looking for a new island or two.  Right now I have Tonal, Anjou v. 3, Kegety's Winter Kolgujev, and CAT Afghanistan, but they're getting a bit old now (well, not so much Anjou).  There's a lot of islands out there, and I'd like to hear what some of you think are good ones before I go download something.

Also, I saw a "Chechnya" island while browsing ofp.info.  Has anyone tried it?

Sarugao is an oldie with pre resistance objects, but is a goody in my book and makes for an awesome WWII setting in my opinion.

Beta 2 of Novajev (http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard311/ikonboard.cgi?s=0c741a3c6e3f672092a6a2d108585920;act=ST;f=4;t=46152) was just released. I haven't gotten a chance to check out this beta, but I played around a lot with the initial release, and it's a doozy. Great island.

Sandy Rocks (http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard311/ikonboard.cgi?;act=ST;f=4;t=47553) is another good one.

Freya (http://www.ofpec.com/intel/index.php?a=show&newsID=979&catID=2) can be pretty demanding, but it's definitely one of the better islands. It also comes with a less demanding (city-less) version in the package.

Gaia (http://operationflashpoint.filefront.com/file/Gaia;21355) is another fairly demanding one, but it's pretty amazing all round.

Afghan Everon (http://www.ofpd.org/taliban.php) is pretty nifty. Quite a different feel than CAT Afghanistan.

edit: To add to GuiltyRoachKiller's post, there's also an updated version of Sarugao (http://ofp.gamezone.cz/index.php?showthis=1639) that was released this year: New Sarugao (http://ofp.gamezone.cz/index.php?showthis=9158). Both are fantastic.

It required a hell of a lot of addons, that comes up to about 200MB, but its a great island, very detailed with lots of features.

Remove Kegetys' Winter Kolgujev and install his Winter Nogojev island. It is newer and better. Go read about it from his website:

Wow, thanks for all the great suggestions.

I ended up downloading New Sarugao, Virovitica, and Afghaneveron and getting rid of CATAfghanistan and Winter Kolgujev (I never used it much).  I haven't had a chance to try them yet, but they look really good.

Ooh, forgot about Torment Valley (http://ofp.gamezone.cz/index.php?showthis=8805). Nice mix of terrain, and pretty interesting spots.
